Track with near-zero latency through preamp emulations from Neve®, API®, Manley® and more using Unison technology†

Unison Technology: The Genuine Sound of Neve, API & Manley Preamps

Apollo Twin features two Unison-enabled mic preamps, letting you track through exacting mic preamp emulations from Neve, API, Manley, and Universal Audio. An Apollo exclusive, Unison technology nails the tone of these sought-after tube and solid state mic pres — including their input impedance, gain stage “sweet spots,” and the component-level circuit behaviors of the original hardware.

The secret to Unison is its hardware-software integration between Apollo Twin’s mic preamps and its onboard UAD-2 DUO Core DSP Acceleration. Simply place a Unison preamp plug-in on your mic input, and tap into the classic sounds of the world’s most recorded mic preamps.

A Full Suite of Classic<br>Analog Processing Onboard

A Full Suite of Classic
Analog Processing Onboard

Right out of the box, Apollo Twin provides a suite of incredible analog emulation plug-ins including the world’s only authentic Teletronix LA-2A, 1176LN, Pultec EQs, and the Unison-enabled UA 610-B Tube Preamp. Developed by UA’s world-renowned team of algorithm engineers, these Realtime Analog Classic plug-ins set the standard by which all other hardware emulation plug-ins are judged.

From the tube warmth of the Pultec EQ on guitars, to the gentle limiting of the LA-2A on vocals, your recordings will take a giant leap forward in rich, sonically complex analog sound.

Access the World of UAD Powered Plug-Ins

Beyond the included Realtime Analog Classics plug-ins, Apollo Twin lets you tap into the full library award-winning UAD Powered Plug-Ins — including vintage EQs, Compressors, Reverbs, Tape Machines and more — at near-zero latency, regardless of your audio software’s buffer size and without taxing your computer’s CPU.

With exclusive emulations from Neve, Studer, Manley, API, Ampex, Lexicon, Fender, and more, it’s like having an endless analog studio, right on your desktop. And unlike competing interfaces, these DSP-powered plug-ins are also available in your DAW for mixing.

Next-Generation A/D and D/A Conversion

Next-Generation A/D and D/A Conversion

Of course, the heart of any audio interface is the quality of its conversion. With the highest dynamic range and lowest noise of any desktop interface, Apollo Twin gives you stellar 24-bit/192 kHz sound and breathtaking clarity. Its premium Unison mic preamps, input stage, and audio conversion are identical to the famed Apollo series, translating into rich three-dimensional recordings with exceptional depth and punch.

Apollo: The Choice of New-School Professionals

Apollo is the confirmed choice of hit-making professionals, used to record records by Kendrick Lamar (To Pimp A Butterfly), Coldplay (A Head Full of Dreams), Dr. Dre (Compton), Brad Paisley (Wheelhouse), and many more. The Apollo range of interfaces has earned numerous industry awards from Sound on Sound, Future Music and Electronic Musician — as well as the prestigious 2016 TEC Award for computer audio hardware.

This sucks if you have a mac pro.

I have a mac pro early 2009, a mac mini and a 2011 macbook pro for travel.

I wanted something portable to replace my apogee ensemble and be able to use my old UA plugs a purchased when I was using an uAD1 card and eventually threw it away my UAD1 card which became obsolete and UA would not grant me an upgrade.

I wanted something to use with all my gear, maybe even buy another Twin. Nein Danke.

I'm so angry.

Im back in the same situation. I bought the twin with thunderbolt and I can't use it on my mac pro unless I upgrade it to a 1013 and on, but will work on a 2011 -2010 macbook pro??

This is insane.

Will there be something that will make the apollo twin useful for us late 1012 - 2009 mac pro users?

Overpriced

Nice Product. No value in the plugins that are bundled. The quality over lets say a product like Apogee Duet is not good enough to warrant an additional $300.00. The two DSP chips are a good thing but than you really need to investigate and then spend more money on the plugins that will take advantage of that feature. Using your DAW will get you the same overlaod messages as any other AI so why spend nearly a grand.

INVESTIGATE WELL BEFORE YOU BUY. I EXPECT TO BE RETURNING MINE LATER THIS WEEK

Mixed Feelings

Pros:
- Strong build
- Good quality pre
- ADAT-in is very useful with my Digimax D8 for external synths and processing.
- Eye Candy design

Cons:
- No Thunderbolt passthrough
- Buggy when trying to send computer audio (iTunes, browers, etc) to a virtual channel.
- Not bus-powered. I understand the Sharc processors need power to work, but it would have been nice to have a DSP bypass to allow bus-powered playback.

Other Thoughts: I'm still waiting for UAD to officially announce compatibility with their PCI-e Octo card.

Molte difficoltà nell'utilizzo della console/mixer. Inoltre, nel manuale inerente al software della console non sempre le immagini riportate corrispondono al mixer presente sul desktop.

The best I ever experienced.

Actually I am a professional flautist and playing future films for the past 40 years. I have used almost all sound cards and this one is just awesome. Nothing comes to near it.

excelente equipo

Still early days

Still early days here and I am learning more things as I go. I would love to have more of these good plugins but they are truly expensive.

I was picturing myself processing audio well before recording, as if I was running through lots of outboard gear before committing to track, and this is the best tool for that.

Sound quality is great, now I just need to improve my skills and fade away from the easy way out aka presets.

pristine sound !!!

Sounds much cleaner than my old $200 interface
APPS ARE INCREDIBLE
BUT more chips are needed to run them more than a few

The best Audio Interface in the world

The best option if you have or even if you don't have any audio interface, this one is my second, the first is Apollo 16 Quad and this new one is the Apollo Twin, the preamp sounds amazing, best for monitoring, add more plugins for the duo processor... for this and another great things Apollo is the best option for musicians and recording and mix solution

Impressive Gear

Very impressed. Previously using an Apogee interface and found it very proficient but felt it lacked tonally or harmonically in some regions on some material. Since upgrading to the UAD Apollo i have noticed more detail and tonal balance in the harmonics and range. More balance in the overall sound structure. Certain material in the listening sphere sense is definitely enhanced and i am hearing parts or elements i have never noticed subtly placed in the mix.

Production wise the external processing and plugins are just enough to take things to another level. I find there is a real analogue warmth to the unit itself but the modelling of the plugins is very impressive to.

The unit is built like a tank on top of this and gets nice and warm.. It is a "true" piece of electronic design and has the warmth of something with tubes inside or a piece of engineering utilising the best of its components in balance.

Glad i made the change s an understatement really. The unit itself is very impressive but that plus the plugs side makes this a serious piece of hardware.

Rock Solid hardware & software

After 15+ years as an owner of UAD hardware and software, I can report without reservation that this company provides products that meet and exceed every expectation. For decades I have occupied both sides of the pro audio sales counter--purchasing and using products as a studio owner/operator, and representing products as a seller in music retail. UAD products are of the highest and most robust quality, and priced and supported in a way that makes them among the best deals one could hope to encounter.
