Chandler Limited® Curve Bender Mastering EQ

An Iconic Circuit
Using an advanced algorithm, Softube expertly emulates the Chandler Limited Curve Bender’s filter inductors — the key to its legendary sonic character. “Inductor-based EQs have a sound that is unachievable by any other method," says Chandler Limited founder, Wade Goeke. "They sound fat, with thick low end, slightly aggressive mids, and smooth highs.”
Expanding a Classic
The original EMI TG12345 desk EQ offered nine fixed filter points. The Chandler Limited Curve Bender expanded these to a whopping 51, with more gain options, a slightly more flexible Q, Mid/Side capability, and added high and low‑pass filters. These enhancements have made the Chandler Limited Curve Bender EQ equally at home in high-end mixing or mastering studios.
Mastering and More
Although it’s primarily designed for the mix bus, the Chandler Limited Curve Bender EQ plug-in can be used in myriad tone-shaping scenarios. Put it on your mix bus and add air, complexity, weight and mojo with juicy inductor-based flavor. The Chandler Limited Curve Bender plug-in’s ultra-flexible filters can even clean up infrasonic rumble, DC offset, and high-frequency noise. Or place it on your drum or vocal bus for tons of old-school spice and attitude that is unachievable any other way.
“The sonic similarities of the UAD Chandler Curve Bender to the hardware allows me to work on my mobile rig, and integrate seamlessly into the analog world.”
– Tony Maserati (Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Jason Mraz)
“The Curve Bender plug-in has the hallmarks of the original, with the added benefit of M/S processing and channel linking – it sounds amazing!”
– Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Avett Brothers)
“The tone is strong, rock and roll, and has tons of personality. The Curve Bender can deliver a simple one-click notch of air on an organic mix or a healthy amount of low-end thump to punch up an electronic track.”
– Joe Chiccarelli (Jason Mraz, Beck, The Strokes, Morrissey)

Why this is "THE" EQ for your mastering chain
Ever tried the Massive Passive EQ for your mastering chain? Ever become frustrated because the EQ you dialed in was too aggressive when you compare it to other records? Then try the Chandler Curve Bender. It will give your masters a smooth EQ curve that is never too aggressive. The trick is to only add up to +2dB per band if needed. It sounds forward, yet never too aggressive. Perfect.
Really smooth EQ that that has replaced my other EQ's in the final mix.
The Curve Bender has a lovely great sweet character and it works extremely well with guitars, drums and master bus. Highly recommend.
I thought I didn't need another EQ. I tried it out on a mastering session and compared to other mastering eq's. The Curvebender was a clear winner. Flexible enough and mid-side and vibe. Excellent!
This is a great EQ. I love how it adds nice smoothness to the sound. seems like it sounds good no matter where you set it. Doesn't seem to ever sound bad. Dial in more bass/less bass, etc. Its just nice.
One of the best Master EQ on this World. Easy to use and effective makes a real difference in the mix bus
Complete and utter MAGIC
This thing has some character!! The frequencies are just right. I hardly ever find myself using more then 1 click on any frequency. It's instant magic. It's been on my 2-bus for a handful of sessions now and I can't see myself ever removing it.
New plug-ins, very good
It can improve the clarity of music
Sound through it will be higher density
Can increase the sound field open
Guitars and Synths!
I love this on guitars and synths. The mid frequency bands really stand out to me as being special.
Loving this one!!!!
What a wonderful plugin - heard a lot about Chandler gear over the years and the technology being used over the years in TG equipment in Studios like Abbey Road - this emulation is awesome - subtle and unique to my ears - love using the mid/side option to create width on a mix - it now sits in my mix bus chain along side a few others from UA - brilliant plugin!!
If you like the Chandler/Abbey Road sound, this is as good as it gets in plug-in form. Parked on my 2-bus and I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon. Worth it.
Never Leave a Mix Without It
I've spent about 6 months using it before writing a review. This EQ has reshaping abilities that sound completely natural. Whether you're using on your Mix Bus, acoustic guitar, vocal or even M/S on the piano, this EQ does not disappoint.
I concur with S Riel. It is very close to the original and super versatile. Use it everywhere
Character up the wazoo!
Even though I already had the API EQs, the Neve 1073, and the Pultec EQs, I couldn't say no. This EQ has a character that is unique and that I have been looking for in a plugin for quite some time. I find it especially engaging for its mid range.
The real deal plugin!
The Curve Bender combined with an API 2500 has been my mix bus insert for about 4 years. I've A/B'd the HW/plugin quite a bit over the past couple of months and I feel, as well as my clients, we lean closer to the software version. Having both plugins really allows me to be prep/mix remotely and print mixes with the confidence that I'm not short changing the end result. You will not be disappointed!
