EMT® 250 Classic Electronic Reverb
-
Iconic lever-driven digital reverb and modulation effects unit.
The EMT® 250 Classic Electronic Reverb plug-in for UAD-2 and Apollo interfaces is a faithful emulation of the first digital reverb/modulation effects unit introduced in 1976.
Still regarded as one of the best-sounding reverb units ever made, the EMT 250 continues to leave an immeasurable mark on record-making history in the hands of studio legends like George Massenburg, Bruce Swedien, Daniel Lanois, Brian Eno, and Allen Sides.Track and mix with the only emulation of the EMT 250 reverb unit, fully endorsed by EMT International GmbH
Dial in lush delay, phasing, chorus, and echo effects
Add distinctive space and depth to drums, guitars, and vocals with the same algorithm found in the original hardware

Featuring the EMT 250 Classic Electronic Reverberator plug-in
Used on Countless Classics
The EMT 250’s distinctive clear and open reverb sound has appeared on countless records, including Prince & The Revolution’s Purple Rain, Elvis Costello’s Spike, and modern classics like The Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Stadium Arcadium.
Exclusively endorsed by EMT Studiotechnik
Fully endorsed by EMT, the UAD EMT 250 plug-in uses the same algorithm found in the original, extremely rare hardware — designed by Dr. Barry Blesser and EMT industrial engineer Peter Bermes* — modeling a sourced “golden unit” from Allen Sides’ collection that resides at the famed Ocean Way Recording.
Added Versatility with New Features
The EMT 250 plug-in goes far beyond the original hardware, adding modern, workflow enhancing features like Dry/Wet Mix, Wet Solo, and Hard bypass. With these useful additions, the EMT 250 plug-in is even more powerful than the iconic hardware.
“The EMT 250 works great on snares. Keep it short and tight to add some dimension, or use the four-second range with full pre-delay for ballad-type songs.”
– Joe Chiccarelli (Jason Mraz, Beck, The Strokes, Morrissey)“Now I have UAD on everything, and I'm using the EMT 140 and the EMT 250 as effects – It's so much easier.”
– Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Avett Brothers)“Forget any other plate emulation, the UAD EMT 250 could actually be the real thing. Deep, wide, and full of personality.”
– Rik Simpson (Coldplay, Portishead, Jay Z)“The EMT 250 plug-in is amazing. It’s all over Norah Jones' record. I used it on every song, it's that good.”
– Jacquire King (James Bay, Kings of Leon, Tom Waits)“I’m a really big fan of the UAD EMT 250. It’s so faithful to the original unit.”
– Just Blaze (Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé)“I use the EMT 250 because it has such a specific sound, and the UAD plug-in really does capture it.”
– Andrew Scheps (Adele, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Duke Spirit)“I’m particularly happy with the EMT 250 Reverb emulation. It’s spot on.”

Great for that nostalgic sound
I got this because it was a great part of the last records I made with Blue Oyster Cult but compared to some of the other reverbs I have like Real-verb, it's a little plain. Still I use it...

Creative Reverb
Not your run of the mill reverb. Good for the weird effects. It can do natural well but shines when you push it to its limits with the modulation effects and such.

I cannot find a bad setting on this reverb... Everything is usable depending on what you are working on but you will find at least 2 or 3 settings for what you are working on. I like how it fits with the music you're creating. It's never overwhelming what you are doing... Love it!

All I can say is WOW!
I always wondered how they got that sound in the late 70's & 80's that I loved so much. This is such an incredible reverb. The sound quality is effortless and limitless. From soaring guitar solos to deep ballad vocals, this is an effect that has to be experienced to be fully appreciated. Don't know how I lived without this plug in for so many years. 6 Stars UAD

why I choose this reverb..
I have no idea how... But unlike other modern reverb, this one is just wrapped around the vocal in such a way..it feels like warm butter On a hot, fresh baguette..
This is the only way I can describe it :)A. Chapin
Lush reverbs
A very simple layout with numerous options and great sounding results. This is one of my favorite reverbs to use because of how easy it is to dial in the necesarry amount.

Fantastic, Rich sounding Reverb!
I've been auditioning a TON of reverb plugins lately and this one is one of the best. It offers a very rich, complex sounding reverb that has a warmth in the top end and the tails sound just fantastic. Easy to use and offers some other delay and modulation effects as bonus. Worth it just for the reverbs alone though.

EMT® 250 Classic Electronic Reverb
The 5 Programs, that are essentially effects, definitely shape, distort, and puts the track in that warm sweet spot, with a lot of experimentation. The ability to add it as multiple effects to one track instantly makes this one of the best plug-ins to have in the queue.

Incredible Reverb
This really is the best plugin reverb I've ever used. The A/B is astonishing sometimes. Worth ever cent.

Emt-250
Really handy tool to have . Chorus is great, delays are shorter but really nice sounding and the reverb makes everything sit nicely in the mix while being very easy to dial in.The reverb, to me , only has one flavor to it but it's such a great sounding one that's very tweakable..When the pros can't tell the difference between this plug in and the 25,000 $ hardware version it becomes an easier decision . U need this ! Demo it and see for yourself .

NEW FAVORITE
A MUST HAVE, VERY SMOOTH ON VOCALS.

Another great reverb
To have with the 140!

great to have!
A real alternative to the very rare and overly expensive hardware! Owning a real EMT 252 with additional 250 algorithm eprom, I can tell that this UAD version is very close. It certainly has that magic sheen. Use it on vocals, ac. guitar, choir and symphonic strings, it is a real beauty! On shorter settings it is even more useful on percussion and snare drums than the UAD Lex 224, while not quite as flexible as the UAD AMS RMX16. Does it sound like the hardware? I don't care, it sounds great on its own! Using it all the time...
