SANTA CRUZ CALIFORNIA, USA5TH OCTOBER 2005, Universal Audio, a manufacturer of high-quality vintage audio hardware and DSP software plug-ins for digital audio workstations, today announced the web launch of v4.0 software for the UAD-1 DSP Card & Powered Plug-Ins system. Version 4.0 includes a 14-day fully functional demo of the Roland® Dimension D (SDD-320) Plug-In. Registered UAD-1 customers may purchase full authorizations of the Dimension D plug-in for US$149 and for a limited time, a special Roland chorus bundle will be available including both CE-1 and Dimension D for $199 from my.uaudio.com
The original Roland Dimension D rack released back in 1979 has a unique place in the world of outboard gear with its subtle, yet instantly recognizable wide-stereo spatial sound. said Mike Barnes, Director of Marketing for Universal Audio. We are honored that Roland selected UA to emulate another classic audio processor and Dimension D devotees can rest assured that all the trademark sonic secret sauce is intact in the plug!
The Dimension D is a one of a kind studio gem that adheres to the principle of doing one thing, and doing it extremely well. Its one and only function: some of the best sounding stereo chorus ever made. It is a natural compliment to the BOSS® CE-1 Stomp Box previously released by UA and together they cover all essential chorus and vibrato effects. However, the Dimension D is more than a chorus, it is really a unique sound enhancer for adding spatial effects without the obvious movement of sound produced by other chorus devices. Universal Audio went to great lengths to preserve the analog Bucket Brigade chorus with all its unique design elements and sonic characteristics.
In keeping with reaching a major UAD milestone, we added some extra spice to the v4.0 UAD-1 driver features at the request of our customers. Tempo-Sync automatically locks UAD-1 plug-in delay times and LFOs to a native DAWs BPM, and Turbo-Transfer mode enhances compatibility with the latest PC multi-processor systems specifically including those based on the dual-core AMD X2 and dual Intel CPUs. added Joe Bryan, UAs VP of Technology.
About the UAD-1 DSP Card
At the heart of every UAD-1 DSP Card & Powered Plug-Ins package is the revolutionary UAD-1 DSP card. Because of its high resolution, floating-point processing, ultra high-speed memory and hardware dithering, the UAD-1 delivers outstanding high-headroom sound quality at sample rates from 32 to 192khz. Unlike other DSP cards, the UAD-1 uses a single, unpartitioned vector processor, allowing for larger and more sophisticated plug-in algorithms offering a new level of power and complexity not found with host-based plug-ins. By greatly reducing the burden on the computers CPU, the host application can now deliver more tracks, automation and native effects.
