Press Release

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA • May 29, 2012 — Universal Audio is pleased to announce the addition of David Krall to its Board of Directors, expanding his involvement with Universal Audio from his role as Strategic Advisor, which he has held since July 2011.

Mr. Krall brings over 20 years of invaluable strategic and tactical management experience to UA from his leadership positions in the professional audio, video, digital media, and technology industries. As President, CEO, and Board Member of Avid Technology from 2000-2007, he doubled revenue and revitalized the post-production business with the development of next-generation products. He also expanded Avid’s audio business into the low-end and consumer channels through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. Prior to Avid, he served as VP of Engineering and COO of Digidesign.

David Krall currently serves as Strategic Advisor to Roku, is a member of the Board of Directors of Progress Software and Quantum Inc, and is Chairman of the Board of Directors for Audinate and QSecure Corporation. He holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Electrical Engineering degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well a Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.

"The advice and vision that David has provided over the last year as Strategic Advisor has been inspiring," says Bill Putnam, founder and CEO of Universal Audio. "We’re thrilled to officially add him on as a member of the Board of Directors, where he will be a huge asset as we develop our growth strategy for the years ahead.”

"I have been incredibly impressed with the UA team, product lineup, and roadmap, and I’m excited to join Bill and his team on their path of growth and innovation within the audio industry," says Krall.
