The 88RS is outfitted with broad range, minimum-phase 12 dB high and low cut filters to shape any signal during tracking or mixdown. In addition, Neve's famed Formant Spectrum four-band EQ, perfect for ambitious tonal strokes or precise surgery, offers classic Neve color on any source.

Crush or Expand with Neve Dynamics

With versatile and musical VCA-type limit/compress and gate/expand modules, the 88RS’ dynamics sections can precisely tailor any source; transparently smoothing a lead vocal, bringing excitement and immediacy to a percussion bus, or even providing frequency-dependent gain reduction for de-essing.

    Great and inspiring channel strip

    I have to write another review after using the Neve 88RS plugin for a long time. This plugin has really helped me take my mixes to the next level with how good it sounds. Its sound is really warm and natural. The treble on its EQ has the right spark here, the whole sound feels really expensive. Great and inspiring channel strip. Thank you UA.

    Is this the best UAD Channel Strip?

    This was the only Channel Strip I didn't own and I regret not getting it sooner. I own a real Neve preamp and this sounds exactly like it. The compression is incredible and has a vibe to it. Everything is colored in a wonderful way.

Yes, you’ll need an Apollo audio interface, UAD-2 Satellite, or UAD-2 PCIe card to run these plug-ins, using the onboard DSP. The plug-ins run on the hardware itself, without adding strain to your computer’s CPU. In an Apollo, onboard DSP processing allows you to run realtime UAD plug-ins with near-zero latency, and even record that processing directly to your DAW.
Yes, you can start a fully functional 14-day demo from any plug-in bundled with the UAD software. Simply click “Start Demo”, and start using it in your DAW.
UAD-2 licenses follow the hardware, it does not matter which computer they are connected to. You can have up to six UAD-2 devices registered to a system in your Universal Audio account, which share those licenses. See UAD-2 Plug-In Licensing Explained for full details. Authorization of UAD-2 hardware is managed by the UAD Meter & Control Panel Application.
