The sound quality is good, but the UAD support service experience is terrible!
The Input Gain on the Fairchild 670 causes all MIDI Learn functions to fail when using MIDI Learn, which has never happened with the hundreds of other plugins I've used. I've recorded video and provided system information to the customer service team, but they said they couldn't reproduce the problem and froze my ticket.
I'm giving 2 stars for the complete 660 and the sound performance of the 660/670. Remember to use the Trial version of UADx to make sure everything works before buying!

Fair utility plug-in?
I didn't feel this plug-in was as close to others [LA-2A, 224 and Pultec] it's good but I can find better, closer to the real "Fairchild". When listening closely to recordings, it changes the instruments tone, not in a good way, subtle but noticeable. I wouldn't recommend it! Most likely I'll never use it.

Validation is a nightmare
For some reason these plugins don’t just activate once, they need to activate every time you open them, which means if you have no internet you can’t use them. Why they don’t have the ilok license on the hardware like every other plug-in company I’ve used I’ll never know. Extremely bad user experience, I used for 10 minutes then because it want to re validate again and I had no internet they locked up and I had to go through support to learn a process to get them unlocked again. Now i can’t use them in any projects because if I don’t have internet they won’t run….even though they’ve been validated over and over again, could understand if I was subscribing but I have a perpetual license. It should validate once and never again. If I had spare usb slots I’d get an ilok usb stick but that’s not an option for everyone & we don’t all have 24:7 internet.

Great Plugin But Missed the Sale
The Fairchild plugin is great but I am very disappointed that this $299.00 plugin went on sale for $49.00 three days after I purchased it.

Great sound but it crashes very often
Great sounding plug in, it really adds magic like no other but I get the dreaded -98, -50 device code errors.
This will be my last purchase from UAD until this, known issue, gets sorted out.

Great plugins but Satellite still unstable
I would give the plugins themselves a 4 star review.
However the UAD Satellite still remains an unreliable piece of equipment, unsuited to professional application for those who need gear that works ALL the time.
On a good day I will only have 2 or 3 crashes but usually I have many more, and often at crucial times. I don't have this problem ever with my UAD solo laptop, and so its clear that the Firewire drivers are the issue here
I would rather see this issue remedied than new plugins and promotions being released.
Its a shame to see UAD abandoning their existing customer base
