Eats up a ton of DSP
Uses a ton of DSP. Waiting on my satellite. Hopefully it will provide the DSP I need for how much I've invested. Almost unusable on my x8p.

Overdriving so fast.. great tone though
I'm using this plugin for over a year now and while I'm very fond of the tone and color I can't seem to have a few moments and recordings without overdrive, and yes I've tried all possible ways. I just wanted to say this since there are no negative or (real honest) reviews to find here.

Straight Up Mean!
I give this product 2 stars because of the UA’s customer service not the product.
I recently purchased an Apollo twin from a Reverb retailer. I got the unit a few months ago and was using it whilst saving up for the neve 1073. Over Xmas I saw it was on sale and went to buy it but found I couldn’t - literally couldn’t - put it in my cart to check out. I contacted UA to no avail and eventually got the problem sorted through the seller(she had to de-register thru UA and they switched ownership to me - UA never mentioned this as a possibility) but by the time that happened and I went back to buy the 1073 the sale had ended the day before! So I contacted UA and explained my situation and begged for some extension. No doing. So, under project pressure, I sold an old guitar I didn’t want to sell and bought it.
Anyway - while the product is awesome - UA seem pretty ruthless and dis-interested in working w their clients even when the mistake is out of their hands and arguably in theirs.

Distorted and clicky
Not sure what I'm doing wrong, I actually like the sound of it but when I play back it sounds distorted. Still working with it. I think the UNISON stuff is bullsh*t. I don't find it to be any different than using the insert slots. Whatever. It's also extremely huge. I am going to try to use nothing but a wee limiter. THat way I don't have to worry about some stupid rotten plug in trouble.

Bleedin Price Drop !
Bought this yesterday for the ‘discounted’ price of $249 - only to see it dropped to $99 today !
It’s a great plug-in, deserving at least four stars, but I’ll only give it TWO because I feel cheated !

Great plugin, i can't fault the neve at all, is a shame that uad isn't so good with there customer sevices tho, was charged 50 euros more than i should have been for the plugin and have had no reply from the uad customer services when i asked why i have been charged extra.
To summerise, uad do great plugins but have a rubbish customer services which is a real let down, which is reflected in the score i gave.

great plugin - but the price-nionsens wreckes my day
The plugin is great. Therefore I bought it.
But after I bought it, suddenly the price went down from the "lowest price of the year" $149 to $89 !!!
But now I see - it´s just so cheap, when I´m logged in- otherwise it´s still staying on $ 149. ?!?
Does this make sence? Noone needs a second one. Maybe ther is a programming mistake? Or a bad joke?
Sorry, but this wreckes my day - it seems to be harder than wall street.

I was hoping for massive sound and got bogged down.
I want to start out saying this plug in sounds great. I love what the pre does for my tracks. It really brings my snare and vocals to life. But here's the reason I am writing a bad review. This thing is glitchy. I am using a quad satellite with an iMac i7 (incase you're wondering). To start with, the instance count is low (8 mono/4 stereo). Yes 8 virtual pre's cost way less than 1 real pre. However, some times when I load an instance the pre will work but the eq (or some other feature) won't engage. The warning it gives has to do with the load limits. There are ways for me to work around this (as I have learned by lots of trial and error), but I am really disappointed that the one plug I would use the most is causing me the most problems.

great plug - dodgy pricing
picked this one up on release for 299 usd, price dropped to 150 less than 2 weeks later. come on UAD, show a little consistency here - this has happened before! don't penalize your most loyal customers... otherwise, it's a lovely sounding plug in

Good eq but is it worth 1 full dsp per instance?
Ok so its a really nice sounding eq but ... Universal audio are soon going to render my €1600 octo similar to the worth of a uad-1 soon with all of the dsp these new plugins are taking up.
Its a little nicer than the original but in a mix situation it will kill your dsp with 7-8 instances and then what? More $$$!!
