Good Tones, Low DSP, Not Intuitive.
Has some good tones and presets. They are free with Apollo’s, can’t complain. They are not very intuitive to learn at first . Also the design looks outdated.

Great tool but expander/gate is missing
The Precision Channel Strip is a very useful plugin for working quickly and effectively in the Apollo Console (equalizer, compressor). I use it on vocals to improve comfort in the headphone.
However, in my opinion, an expander/gate is missing. It would be great to reduce background noise between takes when we listen on what we just recorded.

Precision is the perfect name
That's is all about: PRECISION.
No color, just what you want.
To lift my highs I still use the pulltec

Great freebie with its own mojo!
It definitely has some mojo, I've used this for tracking drums and vocals mainly as well as other instruments with very gentle settings printed and it works wonders. I also suggest trying the EQ and COMP at the mix buss at the beginning of your mixing process. Give it a test and don't overlook it just because it's free, definitely worth using it, not so dsp hungry and great for tracking large sessions with EQ and COMP in your recordings.

People are sleeping on this freebie
I use the compression / limiting as the final processing in my vocals wether lead or BGV's. It's clean, it's straight to the point, and it free up my CPU for more intensive stuff. It's not bad at all. Try it. Sometime you just need to do some quick adjusting but don't want character plugs.

Warmth and character
Adds warmth and character to a track. Nice on vocal tracks. Sometimes not tight enough for my personal taste but great analog feel. Too soft and too smooth on a master bus for my ears. Don't use the compressor much though.

CS-1 PLUG-IN
These are some really unique sounding units, i especially like the reflection plug to add width and depth to the mix, i only recently stumbled upon these but have started to go back to them more and more now. Brilliant plugins

CS-1 plugin
Very cool freebie. i use this plugin TONs. Especially the FX section of it. I dont know of any other company that offers this quality of a plugin without having to pay for it, and with UAD its free.

great value
This came with my apollo quad. Totally solid channel strip. Everything you need to get going.

CS-1 Channel Strip Plug-In
The compressor is very well suited for processing of various material, although it is always possible to find a replacement. EQ, a little harsh. Delay and reverb, not used in the work.

Three Plugins in One, you get a EQ/Compressor, a delay section, and a "reflection engine" which i think of as a Reverb. You can use them all in together with each other like they come or you can use them individually in combination or by themselves. Also for the Delay section there is a bonus DM-1L unit that uses more DSP but you can achieve longer delay times if that's the sort of crazy thing you are looking for. I never would have known any of this if I didn't decide to thoroughly read the manual, Read your manuals people!!
