Neve 1073 / 1073SE Classic Console EQs

3-Band EQ & High-Pass Filter Plug-In Modeled After Revered Neve 8014 Console

Originally designed by Neve in 1970, the Neve 1073 channel module is derived from revered Neve consoles such as the 8014. The 1073 is famous for adding otherwise unattainable sheen and clarity to music tracks. Modeling the 3-band EQ and high-pass filter with painstaking detail and thoroughness, Universal Audio’s Neve 1073 EQ plug-in replicates the sonic experience of its analog inspiration with stunning detail. Other features include a 30 dB range of gain control, phase reverse and EQ bypass.

The Neve 1073/SE EQ is a fixed 12kHz high shelving EQ, a six frequency (7.2k, 4.8k, 3.2k, 1.6k, .7k, .36k) parametric EQ, a four frequency (220, 110, 60 and 35 Hz) low shelving EQ, and a four frequency high pass filter. Other features include a 30 dB range of gain control, plus phase reverse and EQ bypass.

I frequently grab the Neve 1073 plug-in for bass, kicks, snares & vocals because whatever I do, that EQ always sounds musical.

    Nathaniel Kunkel

"[The 1073] was able to get the guitar to grind in a way that I could not get out of any other plug, much less another Neve."

    Paul Vnuk, Jr.

    (Recording Magazine)

"As you would expect from UA, each plug-in is visually and functionally accurate to its real world counterpart"

I've worked with all the UAD Neve plug-ins and they sound exceptionally good. They do exactly what I had hoped they would do.

    Paul White

    (Sound On Sound)

"[The Neve 1073 EQ plug-in has] all the bite, without breaking your skin, just like the original."

I got UAD because of this plugin...
    by A. Hauf(Thursday 19 May, 2016)

I have only begun to use it but oh wow! The added warmth on the low end is very sweet and it gives a lot more clarity to the whole mix. Currently I am remastering my latest tracks, it is unbelievable what this Neve 1073 plugin does, just an instance on my mastering chain after the comps, a… Read More

When I can't afford the full DSP hit
    by L. Rollins(Monday 7 March, 2016)

It's great to have this legacy plug to fill the void if I don't have enough DSP to run the full plugin. The EQ by itself is devastatingly powerful. Read More

Sounds just like a 1073, not the 1073
    by k. Flowers(Monday 19 October, 2015)

This emulation hits it on the mark. There are no 2 1073s that sound exactly alike, so anyone asking for an emulation of the 1073 to sound just like the one they had is crazy. But this one captures the intent, thru characteristics, feel, low end girth, and nuances that give the 1073 it's well… Read More

    Still loving these despite upgrading.
    by J. H (Monday 5 January, 2015)

The new 1073 is incredible, but very DSP hungry. I run these classic plugs on guitars a lot, to make simple EQ tweaks, as well as the HP filter. I can drive these a bit to add some "analog" dirt as well. If you buy this collection, you'll be amazed at how useful these legcy 1073s are. Read More
