Neve® 1073 / 1073SE Classic Console EQ Plug-Ins

3-Band EQ & High-Pass Filter Plug-In Modeled After Revered Neve 8014 Console

Originally designed by Neve in 1970, the Neve 1073 channel module is derived from revered Neve consoles such as the 8014. The 1073 is famous for adding otherwise unattainable sheen and clarity to music tracks. Modeling the 3-band EQ and high-pass filter with painstaking detail and thoroughness, Universal Audio’s Neve 1073 EQ plug-in replicates the sonic experience of its analog inspiration with stunning detail. Other features include a 30 dB range of gain control, phase reverse and EQ bypass.

The Neve 1073/SE EQ is a fixed 12kHz high shelving EQ, a six frequency (7.2k, 4.8k, 3.2k, 1.6k, .7k, .36k) parametric EQ, a four frequency (220, 110, 60 and 35 Hz) low shelving EQ, and a four frequency high pass filter. Other features include a 30 dB range of gain control, plus phase reverse and EQ bypass.

    Vance Powell

    (The Raconteurs)

"If I want to dig the wool out, I use a [Neve]1073 plug-in. I want to add some boom, I go to the middle, and crank it up."

    Ed Cherney

“I use the Neve 1073 as both an EQ and an ‘aural exciter.’ No other EQ breathes life and excitement into a sterile DAW audio track or soft synth like this does.”

    Garrett "Jacknife" Lee

    (R.E.M., The Cars)

"Wow! How did i do without it [UAD-2]? The 1073 EQ! 1176LN! Dimension D! The EMT reverbs! Fairchild 670!"

    "The 1073, 1176, LA-2A, LA-3A, 33609, the RE-201, the Dimension D, and the CE-1 [plug-ins]. I couldn't live without 'em"

  • Adam Hawkins

    (50 Cent)

For many decades as the citizens of the Soviet Union we were granted no access to the fruits of the sound recording high technologies. And even now not every citizen of the former Soviet Union can indulge themself with Neve 1073 VST plug-in version, to say nothing of the hard version of Neve1073. I … Read More

It took just under 1.4 miiliseconds- the time it took for my Genelec monitor's suddenly awake and happy soundwaves to hit me.....and my ears felt like they belonged to a bright young curious boy all over again. It took me just under a minute to get on the web and buy it. Didn't even eek out the … Read More

    Second view...disappointment.
    by A. Oberholz (Thursday 29 November, 2012)

I was younger at my first review and more naive. In the meantime I own a very precise swedish clone of the 1073. The total absence of harmonics in the UAD 1073 EQ is a big disappointment. It would have made total sense to also model the amplifying part and not only the EQ part. When I purcha … Read More
