Neve® 31102 / 31102SE Classic Console EQ Plug-Ins

3-Band Active EQ & High/Low Filters Plug-In Modeled After Legendary Neve 8068 Console

Originally featured in the Neve 8068 console, the 31102 EQ was used to mix one of the best-selling debut albums of all time, Appetite For Destruction by Guns-N-Roses. With its distinct filter shaping and familiar Neve sheen and bite, the Neve 31102/SE EQ Powered Plug-In provides another step in the evolution of classic Neve EQs. Artists ranging from Primus and Metallica to My Morning Jacket and The Red Hot Chili Peppers have also called on the distinct tone of the 31102 EQ in the studio. UA’s Powered Plug-In Neve 31102 EQ delivers the same sonic experience as its analog cousin with exacting detail.

Three-band active EQ and High/Low filters offer enhanced tone-shaping possibilities and a feature complexity that sits squarely between its legendary cousins, the 1073 and the 1081.

    (Red Hot Chili Peppers)

“The UAD Neve 31102 is my go-to drum EQ in my mixes...there's no other plug-in that can give me as meaty a kick drum sound as this one!”

    John Fields

    (Switchfoot, P!nk)

“To have unlimited channels of UAD Neve 31102 on a mix is a dream come true. It’s excellent on just about any source material.”

    Paul White

    (Sound On Sound)

"Tonally, the Neve [31102] sounds warmer than the Helios [Type 69] and Harrison [32C] EQs, but that's part of its charm."

    (Computer Music)

"The mid-band bell curve is where the character of the unit [Neve 31102] lies... It bites in & cuts without leaving the sound thin."

    (Computer Music)

"[The Neve 31102 top end] is airy and glistening, with no hint of the harshness that's found on a lot of digital EQs."

  • (Computer Music)

"The warmth of the [Neve 31102's] bottom end is full, fat and creamy."

    I'm selling my console now.
    by M. Gustafson (Wednesday 13 February, 2013)

I'm not joking about the title. I am using an Apollo and now that I have this I am having a hard time justifying keeping it. I have a Toft ATB 24 mainly for the Eq but the pres worst bad. This emulation smokes the Toft and gives me more of a vibey British console feel with recall. Side note the pres … Read More

    My favorite EQ!
    by M. Simon (Saturday 22 December, 2012)

I demoed all of the Neve EQ's and this one sounded the best to my ears. I really thought the 1081 would be the one but the HF section of the 31102 really gets your attention. It is now my "go to" EQ. … Read More

    A better 1073
    by P. Garcia (Sunday 2 December, 2012)

I preferred the 31102 over the 1073. Even though it looks "uglier", the hi band is more versatile and sounds better for me. Now I'm recording almost everything using 31102 before going to Pro Tools on my apollo system. … Read More

This is one eq that was a must-have after I demoed it. What it added to guitars, vocals, keys & drums (percussion included) are words like sheen, luster, depth, air and yes the ever popular "presence" unlike any other UA eq i've used. Granted I like the other eq's for various reasons (still learning … Read More
