The Best in Classic Guitar Amp Tones. All Killer. No Filler.

Ready to change your mind about guitar amp simulation? Softube’s Vintage Amp Room plug-in puts uncanny models of three iconic guitar amps as close as your UAD-2 DSP Accelerator or Apollo audio interface. Developed with a “less is more” focus on high-quality amp sounds — not endless menus, presets and gimmicky effects — Vintage Amp Room injects realtime inspiration and real tone into your “in the box” guitar recordings.

With Vintage Amp Room and your Apollo audio interface, you can finally track your guitar parts through dead-on British and American tube amp models — with sub-2ms latency. Or you can run Vintage Amp Room on your UAD-2 DSP Accelerator hardware to re-amplify your existing guitar or keyboard tracks, adding a whole new dimension of depth and color.

Watch the overview video.

Three Amps + One Mic = Infinite Sounds
Vintage Amp Room’s three guitar amps — “White,” “Brown,” and “Green” — are meticulously modeled on three iconic 1960’s amps that have earned their place in music history. Better still, Amp Room lets you simply “click-and-drag” to audition amps and change dynamic mic positioning via its 3D interface – moving the mic closer, changing the angle, etc. –  shaping your sound as you go.

The White Amp: Built to Rock.
Based on the  rock n’ roll standard for classic, distorted sounds, the White Amp’s genius lies in its simplicity — a bare essentials, single channel tube amp with no reverb or built-in effects. Its sound is equally straightforward, bringing everything from screaming preamp shred to warm power amp distortion. Perfect when you need a characteristically distorted edge and a powerful roar.

The Brown Amp: an American Classic.
You’ve heard this sound on countless records, from the biggest hits to the obscure B-sides. Its tone covers the gamut from clean, crisp, and clear to warm, thick, and punchy. It’s equally at home with a country-style steel guitar or a down and dirty blues guitar, a funky, chunky rhythm or a warm, mellow strum. With built in Vibrato and Bright controls, this will truly become your go-to amplifier model.

The Green Amp: Versatility with an Edge.
The Green Amp is based on a classic three-channel amp model, with a range of versatility that will work on almost everything. The vibrato/tremolo channel will transport you right back to the ‘60s (even if you really weren’t there). Packed with character, the Green Amp offers up a warm yet intense distortion, with an edginess that cuts through the mix without overpowering it.

    (Usher, Mariah Carey)

“Go for something that's unexpected. There's nothing wrong with running a vocal through a [Softube] guitar amp, for example, if it works and gives you something cool!”

    Bill Reynolds

    (Band of Horses)

“I often use [Softube] amp sims when I mix live recorded material. I'll take the DI from the live console and use an amp sim to cut down on the bleed from the mic in front of the amp on the stage.”

    Gareth Jones

    (Depeche Mode, Erasure, Grizzly Bear)

“It's a miracle that we can have these [Softube plug-in] amplifiers in our laptops. It's a huge truck full of wonderful gear for me to use at the click of a mouse button.”

    Paul Hagar

    (Goo Goo Dolls, Jonas Brothers)

“This [Softube Amp Room plug-in] really comes alive when you multiply a DI sound to make combinations of amps the mix together. Try taking a DI and send to the Marshall and the Vox at the same time. You will be happy you did.”

    Very Flexible
    by T. Zink (Friday 2 May, 2014)

I guess guitar players can be pretty fickle. Perhaps when one is listening back on studio monitors this doesn't sound like you're standing in the room with your amp, but it does sound great. I'm not a guitarist, but as a producer/arranger/engineer who writes for and mixes guitar it sounds really nic … Read More

    Well...?
    by T. Liljegren (Sunday 16 June, 2013)

White amp sounds okey distorted. The Brown amp sounds good for clean sounds. The Green amp is a disapointment, and there's no Stomps included. Comparing to Amplitube brown and white amp sounds a bit better but it's not worth the price here. The new cubase VST amp rig sounds over all better than thes … Read More

    IMHO Nothing like my amps...
    by S. Woolgar (Tuesday 7 May, 2013)

I have/have played these amps, they do not sound anything like that. Dynamics are not the same. If I could get a refund and get something else, I would. I wish I had done the demo version before pulling the trigger. Of all of the plugins I have this one (and the metal amp room) are the only two I … Read More

    Not my favorite
    by S. Woolgar (Monday 29 April, 2013)

I bought this highly recommended amp simulator. I am so far rather disappointed. I have (similar to) the amps, and they don't feel like the originals. I feel the simulation is not as life like or 'alive' as others i've used. Still has a place in my arsenal, but much less frequently than I had ant … Read More

    puzzled
    by K. Mesford (Thursday 7 March, 2013)

I am puzzled by the negative reviews of this plugin! These models sound FANTASTIC! I am thinking the added dimension of mic placement is a new concept for some people, and they perhaps don't understand or appreciate how advanced these models truly are! This plug in allows you to create absolutely OR … Read More
