The Classic EQ bundle gives you three very distinct equalizer plug-ins — all of them highly regarded by UAD users and praised in numerous industry reviews. In general terms, the Neve 1073 provides the quintessential British sheen and bite, perfect for adding distinctive "colour" to guitar, bass, acoustic instruments, and drums. The Cambridge EQ is a UA original creation, modeled on a range of classic analog filters to provide a "surgical-yet-musical" fixative tool — an essential tool in your arsenal. Finally, the Pultec Pro picks up where the classic Pultec EQP-1A leaves off, adding super-smooth midrange control and big, friendly Pultec sound. This EQ just seems to warm up everything in its path. Taken together, these three distinct UAD-modeled equalizers present a powerful package, at a significant savings versus buying them individually.
Originally designed by Neve in 1970, the Neve 1073 channel module is derived from revered Neve consoles such as the 8014. The 1073 is famous for adding otherwise unattainable sheen and clarity to music tracks, including guitar, bass, and drums. Modeling the 3-band EQ and high-pass filter with painstaking detail, Universal Audio’s Neve 1073 EQ plug-in replicates the sonic experience of its analog cousin with stunning, highly musical results. Other features include a 30 dB range of gain control, phase reverse, and EQ bypass.
The Cambridge EQ is a popular UA creation, featuring five bands of switchable parametric or shelving EQ, plus comprehensive high and low pass filters. Choose from three types of Q for the parametric bands, and 17 different curve types for the cut filters. The interface features a graphical frequency response curve with zoom controls for fine adjustment, as well as adjustment of the gain, resonance, and frequency of each band. Unlike most EQ plug-ins, each filter is designed to emulate the response of a classic analog filter. The result is both surgical precision and ultra-smooth sound, useful in applications from mixing to mastering.
Universal Audio’s Pultec Pro combines the Pultec MEQ-5 Midrange Equalizer and the Pultec EQP-1A Program Equalizer, two of the most sought-after hardware EQs, into a single plug-in. The Pultec MEQ-5 Midrange Equalizer has been out of production for some time, and is the ultimate compliment to the Pultec EQP-1A. The MEQ-5 EQ section allows you to boost and cut midrange bands with the same silky smoothness and personality of the original hardware — making it perfect for vocals and acoustic instruments. Either EQ section can be enabled or disabled separately, saving DSP power on your UAD-1 or UAD-2 card. Like the EQP-1A, the MEQ-5 was meticulously modeled with all of the attention to detail you expect from Universal Audio.
