Q: What sample rates does it support?
A: The following sample rates are supported (in kHz): 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4, and 192.

Q: What bit depths does it support?
A: 24 bit only.
< TOP >
Q: Does it output to all digital formats simultaneously?
A: Yes.
< TOP >
Q: Does it perform realtime sample rate conversion?
A: No.
< TOP >
Q: Does it perform realtime bit-depth conversion?
A: No.
< TOP >
Q: Is dithering available?
A: There is no dithering. Dither is best applied in the mastering stage before conversion.
< TOP >
Q: What is the latency?
A: Because we are using the highest quality A/D and D/A converters available, the total analog-input to analog-output latency is around 140 samples.
< TOP >
Q: How is the serial copy management system (SCMS) handled?
A: The SCMS bit is removed during digital to digital format transcoding.

Q: When performing A/D, which ADAT lightpipe channels are used for output?
A: At 48kHz, the L/R analog channels are output on lightpipe channel pair 1/2, and are copied to 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8. Similarly, at 96KHz, the lightpipe outputs 1/2 are copied to 3/4 (there are only four channels available at 96kHz). At 192kHz, all 8 ADAT channels are required for the 2 signal channels.
< TOP >
Q: When performing D/A, which ADAT lightpipe channels are used for input?
A: When ADAT is selected for input, optical channels 1 & 2 are at 48kHz, channels 1-4 at 96kHz, and all 8 channels at 192 kHz (using industry standard S-Mux interleaving on ADAT).

Q: Can it slave/sync to external word clock?
A: Yes. We also support sub-clock sync, which allows the use of 48kHz word sync when operating the converters at 96kHz and 192kHz.
< TOP >
Q: Does it output word clock when used as master clock source?
A: Yes. The internal master clock is an ultra-low jitter design that outperforms most stand-alone word clock generators.
< TOP >
Q: How can I use it for I/O with my Digidesign system?
A: You can connect it to any Digidesign interface that supports AES/EBU, S/PDIF, or ADAT optical I/O.
< TOP >
Q: Does it support dual-wire AES/EBU and S/PDIF digital interconnect?
A: Yes. This provides backwards compatibility for 48kHz and 96kHz digital interfaces like those found on Pro Tools | HD.
< TOP >
Q: Is the TDIF (Tascam) format supported?
A: No. You must convert TDIF to either AES/EBU, S/PDIF or ADAT lightpipe.
< TOP >
Q: Can the 2192 do simultaneous A/D and D/A conversion?
A: yes
