Moving v1.3.0 Sessions
to v1.3.1

Moving Pro Tools Sessions made with previous versions of UA TDM plug-ins to v1.3.1 (and Vice Versa)"
If v1.3.1 plug-ins are installed and a session made with UA plug-ins v1.3.0 (and below) is loaded, Pro Tools will report that the plug-ins cannot be found (with the exception of the Cambridge EQ). When the session is loaded, the UA plug-ins will show up in the inserts as inactive. You must replace the inactive UA plug-in with the corresponding v1.3.1 plug-in (see steps below).

Your original settings WILL be intact, and the v1.3.1 plug-ins WILL read older presets made with all previous versions of UA TDM plug-ins . However, any automation data written to the plug-in will be lost, but it can still be saved using the procedure below. This issue also occurs if you have system with previous versions of UA TDM plug-ins installed, and you load a session made with v1.3.1. This procedure will also fix a session in that case.

This change was necessary to provide cross-platform compatibility with Windows Pro Tools sessions and external controllers, as well as greater compatibility with future releases of Pro Tools.

Here is the procedure for replacing an inactive UA TDM plug-in in a session, for example, the LA2A:

1. Click and hold on the inactive LA2A until the plug-in insert menu opens

2.   Select LA2A from the plug-in list

3.   The LA2A interface plug-in will now appear, and the settings that were saved with the session will be intact.

Here is the procedure for copying automation from an inactive v1.3.0 plug-in to a new v1.3.1 plug-in. Let’s assume you have an 1176LN plug-in, and you need to retain the automation:

1. Open a new 1176LN plug-in on the same track, on an insert above or below the inactive 1176LN.

2.   View the automation parameter of the inactive 1176LN you wish to copy (Input Gain, for example).

3.   Highlight and copy the automation data.

4.   View the input gain automation of the new 1176LN.

5.   Paste the data into the Input Gain track with the “paste unlike data” command, Control-Command-v.

6.   Repeat steps 1 through 5 for all parameters that have automation."
