I upgraded from a single UAD-1 to a UAD-2 Quad, so there was clearly a huge boost to DSP power. I can load as many plugins as I care to for most projects, but even this behemoth isn't enough to slap tape on every track along with tracking or mixing chains. I recently upgraded from 1 UAD-2 Solo card and 3 UAD-1 cards to a UAD-2 quad. The upgrade has completely changed my workflow, and allowed me to rely almost entirely on UAD plugins.
