The Linda Lindas take their album sound from studio to stage with Universal Audio

Exclusive interview reveals how front-of-house engineer Adam Labov gets album-quality sound, live on-stage with Apollo x16D and UAD Plug-Ins

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA – June 2, 2025 – Universal Audio, a leader in audio production tools, is proud to release a behind-the-scenes interview with Adam Labov, front-of-house sound engineer for breakout punk band, The Linda Lindas.

Filmed at Third Encore Studios in Los Angeles, CA, the video captures how Labov and The Linda Lindas' producer Carlos de la Garza set up Apollo x16D interfaces in a Dante® audio network with the goal of bringing the band's studio recordings to live front-of-house mixes.

Adam Labov integrates the Apollo x16D and UAD plug-ins into their live FOH setup at rehearsal for The Linda Lindas' 2025 world tour.

“Right out of the gate, I could hear a difference — just loading in a few UAD plug-ins without even fine-tuning them made everything sound better,” says Labov.

"It's great, being able to have a "like-for-like" assimilation of the production from the studio to the live sound world," says de la Garza. "That was a huge workflow obstacle that was instantly overcome with Apollo x16D running UAD plug-ins in realtime."

The interview is available now on Universal Audio’s blog, YouTube channel, and social media platforms.
