UA Releases Second Apollo Creators Episode featuring Imad Royal

From Rico Nasty to Benson Boone and Doja Cat, songwriter/producer Imad Royal shares how he crafts pop gold, blending fearless creativity with Apollo interfaces and UAD plug-ins

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA – September 9, 2025 – Universal Audio, a leader in audio production tools, is proud to release the second episode in the Apollo Creators video series, an exclusive collection of interviews offering a behind-the-scenes look at today’s top producers.

Known for shaping sounds for Rico Nasty, Doja Cat, Panic! at the Disco, Oliver Tree, and Benson Boone, Royal blends fearless experimentation with Apollo interfaces and UAD plug-ins at the core of his workflow.

“Music is universal to me," says Imad Royal. "At its core, it’s great arrangements and songs that make you feel something.”

From his D.C. hardcore roots to producing Rico Nasty’s latest projects, Royal shares his evolution as a drummer-turned-producer, fearless creative philosophy, and how plug-ins like the Studer A800 Tape Recorder help him shape chart-topping hits.
