Cutting-edge Interface with Built-in Analog Compression

The Universal Audio Volt 476 leverages UA's renowned analog expertise to deliver a USB-C audio interface worthy of a decades-long legacy. The Volt 476 boasts top-flight analog circuitry, along with class-leading 24-bit/192kHz AD/DA conversion, enabling you to create professional-sounding music productions, livestreams, and podcasts. This audio interface boasts two microphone preamplifiers with switchable 610-style analog sound, two additional line inputs, and convenient input metering. This interface's crown jewel, however, is its built-in 1176-derived FET compressor with three push-button application modes. Beyond that, six analog outputs and a headphones output make monitoring a snap, plus you get direct monitoring for zero-latency operation. You also get MIDI I/O for your synths and controllers. The Volt 476 vaunts a rugged, retro-inspired industrial design and comes with a cutting-edge native software bundle.

Armed with class-leading AD/DA conversion

The Universal Audio Volt 476 includes outstanding AD/DA conversion — a must-have feature for professional-sounding tracks. This optimized conversion circuitry delivers true 24-bit/192kHz performance, ensuring true-to-life detail and clarity with tons of dimensionality. The engineers here at Sweetwater have found that projects recorded via this USB-C audio interface are top shelf all the way. With the Volt 476 in your studio, you'll be able to produce rock-solid, album-worthy tracks.

Infuses your tracks with 610-style analog sound

UA is renowned for their classic analog designs, and the Volt 476 reflects their decades of experience. This audio interface includes two analog mic preamplifiers that sound startingly similar to Universal Audio's classic 610 tube pre. The Volt 476's Vintage Preamp Mode employs expertly designed op-amps and solid-state electronics to deliver tube-like dynamic saturation and clipping, arming you with powerful, intuitive tone shaping for your microphones and line-level signals. Best of all, Vintage Preamp Mode is selectable, which enables you to use the Volt 476 with external preamps and channel strips with zero added coloration.

Includes a real-deal 1176-derived FET compressor

The UREI 1176 is legendary — a bona fide pro studio workhorse that can be used to add punch and presence to everything from drums to guitars to vocals. The Volt 476 includes a built-in FET compressor based on the classic 1176. But this isn't a digital emulation; rather, it's a real-deal analog compressor. The Volt 476's compressor includes three easy-to-use push-button modes for Vocals, Guitars, and Fast sources (the latter is tailor-made for drums), ensuring optimal settings for any source.

You will never beat the quality at this price point

Where to start on this one.
The sound quality is unbeatable, I compared this with several other interfaces I own and it is a night and day difference in the sound quality. The quality of recordings cannot be touched even by interfaces twice the price. I have even noticed a difference in the quality of sound from monitoring while doing an A/B test with another interface.
The on board fet compressor is limited in what it can do, but works great for recording vocals, guitar, and bass.
The Volt 476 makes re-amping much easier than other interfaces I have worked with. There is even a mono button on it to send the signal to your re-amp device in mono.
It's ease of use and sound quality set it miles ahead of other interfaces in this price range, and a plus it looks very nice sitting on my desk.
I would recommend the Volt 76 series interfaces to anyone looking to get an interface.
Hands down best interface for the money I have come across.
And as always buying through Sweetwater is always a pleasure.

Great sound and nifty audio tools in a small package. All lines balanced.

I have so far enjoyed this interface. It has a few included features that can really add some interesting character to your recordings. I have not found a good use for the vintage tube effect yet, but the compressor options are excellent at cleaning up your instrument's tone. There is nothing to configure, just 3 presets that have general uses but experimentation will yield interesting results.

I really should have spent the extra to get the upgraded 476 to have gain control and compression on all 4 input channels. I thought the back inputs would be unbalanced line inputs but they are balanced. This seems to heavily attenuate my Minilogue XD sound which only has unbalanced out. External gain control or some kind of boost will be necessary for the back 2 inputs when connecting with unbalanced line level gear, else it will be whisper quiet.

It's an excellent vintage style interface that can be used with nearly any device (or completely standalone). Takes some planning to fully utilize it's features, but it has no problem fitting in to your set up however you require.

Awesome

I was looking for a new Audio Interface for a while since My Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 (2nd Gen) wasn't enough inputs so I was researching a few Audio Interfaces and decided to go with the Volt 476. I have a Stronger signal going in my recordings and my Mixes came out a lot better and more Colorful. Way to Go Universal Audio.

Easy to Use, Great Sounding onboard Preamps, Compressor, and Vintage feature

This is my 4th USB audio interface ever. I was long time brand loyal to Tascam and hesitated to switch. However after reading and watching all the reviews and talking to my producer friend I gave Universal Audio a try and I'm so glad I did. The Volt476 connected like a dream through my Dell Windows 10 laptop. It appeared everywhere it should in the software and control panel. I followed a very simple setup and was blown away with how it sounded. I have also switch from long-time Cakewalk user to Cubase 12, so that has been a bit of a learning curve. But, this UA interface is a fine piece of portable gear. I really like the stacked meters as opposed to the common green red single led that most units have. I also did the push buttons and the monster "monitor" knob. I would have like to have the next model up with 4 preamps, but it was a bit pricey for my budget. Honestly as a singer songwriter, I will mostly use the preamps for vocals and acoustic. Therefore my drummer can submix to my two additional line inputs. I have only used the guitar and vocal compressor settings so far, but they sound great. Between the onboard compressor and the Vintage button, I have a very soft headspace while cranking the inputs that give me a warm tone like the old tube gear and mics I love.

I am so glad I got the UA Volt 476 USB audio interface and highly recommend it.
