The Legendary Rooms of Ocean Way
From the opening of Bill Putnam’s United Recording in 1957, to the annexing of neighboring Western Studio in 1961, to their reinvention as Ocean Way Recording under Allen Sides — the famed “Studio A” and “Studio B” at Ocean Way Studios have shaped the sound of countless classic records. From Ray Charles and the Beach Boys, to the Rolling Stones, and Radiohead, music creators have sought out the sound of these beautifully balanced rooms for more than five decades.
Dynamic Room Modeling
Ocean Way Studios reinvents ambience processing with UA’s proprietary Dynamic Room Modeling technology, an exclusive combination of signal processing and advanced measurement techniques. Whereas standard convolution reverbs only provide a sonic snapshot, Dynamic Room Modeling offers the full spectrum of a studio’s ambience possibilities. Specifically, Dynamic Room Modeling provides the unique dispersion properties of various sources, as recorded through various vintage microphones that can be positioned in each room — in real time — via a simple click-and-drag interface. This technology gives the Ocean Way Studios plug-in a shocking level of sonic realism.
An Unrivaled Microphone Collection Under Your Control
With virtual access to $250,000 of hand-picked, vintage microphones, Ocean Way’s microphone setups and Distance controls are the centerpiece of the plug-in. The setups capture the ideal microphone selections and placements for each room and source type.
Up to three vintage microphones pairs (Near, Mid, Far) are available in each setup, allowing for creative sonic blending. Click-and-drag the microphones to position them in the room, then EQ and filter their sound as desired — complete with mic bleed and proximity effects.
Transform Tones With Reverb and Re-Mic Modes
Ocean Way Studios offers two modes of operation: Reverb mode, using send/return paths to mix wet and dry signals; or Re-Mic mode, to fully immerse the original source audio within Ocean Way’s rooms. Re-Mic mode is by nature “fully wet,” and can be used to entirely replace your original room and microphone sounds with the fabled sound of Ocean Way.

One of the best!
This plugin is an incredible tool especially in Re-Mic mode. If you put a dry vocal take into the OWS it comes to life, if you put a virtual drum kit in the studio it becomes a real drum kit, if you put a guitar cab in and create a room track it sounds bigger than life! Mic emulations are also very convincing. Match your aggressive sounding vocal recording with a U67 or a U47 and see how the character of the mic changes the sound. This is no simple reverb plugin, this is a very unique and high quality sounding room simulator. If you're in a home studio, or your studio doesn't sound like the Ocean Way Studios give this a try and let it breathe life into your recordings.

This ocean ways studio plugin is the best room reverb I have ever heard. The re-mic system is an amazing feature but I mainly use this as my room reverb on every instrument bus I can. My only complaint would be I don't always have enough DSP! Here is hoping for a native version!

The re-mic mode is killer for acoustic guitars combined with Wood Works, it's unique and works really well. In Reverb mode it's good but there are other cheaper plugins that sound just as good if not better in reverb mode. 5 Stars for it's killer re mic mode

Amazing on Drums - Can't wait to try on other instruments
I think this may be one of my favorite UAD plugins. Having used this mainly on analog drums and recording in a 'basement' this plugin gives me the ability to change the sound dramatically and add some character to the sound -whether it be a zep style room or a lo fi indie rock sound - I can get it all with this. And that is useful to me. Can't wait to try it on other instruments,.

Very convincing
99,9% of don’t have access to beautiful sounding rooms to record our instruments in. If using “dead” sources, this plug-in adds a room sound that is more natural than any algorithmic reverb can produce.

I record a lot of classical & baroque period music, using acoustic instruments. This plugin puts a dry dull track in a beautiful maleable space and gives it life. Highly recommend. I often throw on some headphones and monitor through OW to make a tedious at-home practice session more fun! OWS is my most used UAD Plugin!

Can sound great for Re-micing
It's definitely not a all-rounder reverb, but rather a sound-shaping tool that can take dull sounding tracks and breathe new life into them. I've used them on Jazz Brass samples and managed to get a great realistic sound out of them! I highly recommend this for the re-micing options!

Best room ambience for my drums.
I record my drums in a very dry environment since I don't have enough space in my home studio and thanks to this plugin I have a wide palette of sounds from different spaces that adapt perfectly to all my productions. The sound of this plugin is of incredible quality.
