I've no clue how the real Helios console supposed to sound. But I do know it great to create that 60s 70s sound. That's slightly too dark for my taste. But amazing UAD stuff as usual.

This plug-in makes your recordings shine in its own way. You insert it in a channel slot and the recorded audio sounds. How? Simply.......good! You crank up (or down) one of the possible frequencies and it sounds. How? Simply.....good! It's a kind of a magic "maschine" like the Pultec...use it to make recordings sound just better...without really knowing what's going on. Just use it and be happy!

Every time I turn on the mic, I throw this preamp on in Unison. I usually go for some light saturation with the Helios Type 69 and boost a bit 3.5 kHz. The saturation’s clean enough that I can still shape it during mixing, really useful!
