LUNA Digital Audio Workstation Reviews

I am a huge fan of Universal Audio and I associate the name with the highest of quality. I am very disappointed in the LUNA DAW. I expected more from my favorite plugin company. I hate that it needs internet connection to run. It regularly kicks me out of sessions forcing to reopen it. I also dislike the fact that I need to connect my interface in order to use it. Sure, if you're recording audio then it's going to have to be plugged in anyway, but you can't just hook up a midi keyboard and make beats on LUNA. Or if you're going to just mix some tracks, you still need to hook up an interface. You can't even playback anything without an interface hooked up. I do really appreciate that it is free and that is why there are two stars and not one. If it could run offline, didn't kick me out of sessions, and didn't always require an interface to run I would probably give it at least four stars because I do like it. But because of these features I'm going back to Cakewalk for my free DAW to use on my mobile setup. I look forward to trying LUNA again in the future if changes are made.

LUNA has a lot of interesting ideas and concepts, but none of that is of any use when it crashes constantly and locks up when recording MIDI. Also doesn't support VST, only VST3 which is an odd caveat.

Insert a non-UAD plugin? 50/50 crash. Open LUNA for the first time on boot? 100% crash. Might take another 2-3 tries before it stops crashing on launch.

Going back to REAPER which has never crashed on me and loads instantly.
