Universal Audio Releases Apollo Artist Session Vol. XIII

Producer Jacknife Lee tracks chart-topping indie rock band Two Door Cinema Club and the London Metropolitan Orchestra through new Apollo X interfaces

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA • January 24th, 2019 — To celebrate the launch of the flagship Apollo X series interfaces, Universal Audio traveled to legendary AIR Studios in London, where Grammy-winning producer Jacknife Lee recorded chart-topping indie rock band Two Door Cinema Club as they performed “Sun” — along with the London Metropolitan Orchestra.

Lee, who has worked with a who's-who of modern pop — including U2, R.E.M., The Killers, Bloc Party, Taylor Swift, and many more — was astounded when he heard the new Apollo X in action.

"At first, I didn’t think I was going to hear any sonic differences with the new Apollo X series," he says. "But suddenly, I could hear things sounding more unified, as instruments blended together more cohesively. Apollo X sounds richer, extremely natural, and my recordings just sound better."

The resulting Apollo Artist Session video, the 13th in a series of original Apollo-powered recordings since 2012, is the most audacious to date — highlighting the new Apollo X series elite-class audio conversion and realtime recording through UAD Powered Plug-Ins like the Neve 1073 Preamp and UA 610 Tube Preamp.
