    Very good

    This amp sounds really really good with the unison preamp. I’ve had a real 800RB and it has a warm clear quality that has depth and balls to it like a tube amp. I am kind of shocked at how good the UAD2 amp sounds, I really wasn’t expecting it to sound this good. I put my old amp setting on bass - dimed, low mids - dimed, high mids - dimed, highs - about 10:30, mid scoop - engaged - it’s pretty freaking close. And when I really smacked it with a distressor - it is very metal - and extremely responsive.

    It also made me feel kind of dumb - wondering why I accumulated outboard gear instead of getting an Apollo first. The unison preamp really really floored me on this amp. I had a Neve 88m and it sounds good, but the drivers are so bad that I couldn’t really use plugins while recording. This is a 5/5 amp for me and the best bass offering in UAD2 format in my opinion. But I want more UAD - bass players need more love from you.

    Very Close

    When my band became a 3 piece I went from rhythm guitar to bass. It was recommended that I try this amp. I played this through. a 2 x 15" Mesa Cab. then later added a 4 x 10" Mesa Cab. It was great. There are so many options with this amp. I loved it. Time moves on and I quit music for years. I was forced to sell my gear due to medical bills. I recently started music again and after trying this plugin, I bought it. I usually don't print a sound when tracking but with this plugin, I do it all the time. I set it up to how I had it set and it just feels natural and sound natural to play. I am so old I was playing through this amp before it was a classic. Ha. :)

    This covers a lot of ground

    Very flexible plugin, will help you get clean uncompressed undistorted bass sound quick. You get to select two IRs at the time which along with all the controls gives you a ton of options. I am still looking for a dirty bass amp, if you are also looking for one this one is not it. I highly recommend this pluggin

    Brilliant bit of Kit

    A colleague of mine recommended Gallien Krueger Bass Amp software. It has the sound characters that I have been looking for and is now my main go to plugin for all my guitar recording needs. In my opinion UAD and their products are brilliant. If you are working in the box or any live or studio environments you must include UAD in you arsenal.

Yes, you’ll need an Apollo audio interface, UAD-2 Satellite, or UAD-2 PCIe card to run these plug-ins, using the onboard DSP. The plug-ins run on the hardware itself, without adding strain to your computer’s CPU. In an Apollo, onboard DSP processing allows you to run realtime UAD plug-ins with near-zero latency, and even record that processing directly to your DAW.

Yes, you can start a fully functional 14-day demo from any plug-in bundled with the UAD software. Simply click “Start Demo”, and start using it in your DAW.

UAD-2 licenses follow the hardware, it does not matter which computer they are connected to. You can have up to six UAD-2 devices registered to a system in your Universal Audio account, which share those licenses. See UAD-2 Plug-In Licensing Explained for full details.
