    Beautiful air

    THE hi-fi pre-amp? Beautiful clarity, air and body, this is the best sounding Unison pre-amp I have come across so far (I am a UA noob but own and have the majority of choices in the lineup) Easy to work. You’ll need a compressor top of course, before or after 1084 going in to your daw, but that is possible and it is worth it. I hardly have to do anything except mixing levels between channels and fixing phase when e.g. recording 8-10 channels of drums. It sounds great.

    Rich vocals

    I demo'd last night and when I tell you the richness that comes through is amazing, So I have a TLM 170r ---> ART PRO VLA PRE---> Apollo Twin X. I was comparing between an Avalon 737(already own), Manly Pre, and the 1084 I wanted to try the 1073 again but already used it. I am so happy with my vocals, then I come on the website today and it's on Sale ha-ha. My vocal tone can be a bit brittle at times but this 1084 makes it sound so smooth and also clear. It really gives professional style vocals.

Yes, you’ll need an Apollo audio interface, UAD-2 Satellite, or UAD-2 PCIe card to run these plug-ins, using the onboard DSP. The plug-ins run on the hardware itself, without adding strain to your computer’s CPU. In an Apollo, onboard DSP processing allows you to run realtime UAD plug-ins with near-zero latency, and even record that processing directly to your DAW.

Yes, you can start a fully functional 14-day demo from any plug-in bundled with the UAD software. Simply click “Start Demo”, and start using it in your DAW.

UAD-2 licenses follow the hardware, it does not matter which computer they are connected to. You can have up to six UAD-2 devices registered to a system in your Universal Audio account, which share those licenses. See UAD-2 Plug-In Licensing Explained for full details.
