    I am recording in the Ocean Way Studios - imagine...

    It is not a particularly cheap Studio (...Plugin) , but it offers incredible possibilities. Let alone the microphones you can use in the setups, you heard about, but you certainly cannot afford. Just use them. I am starting to understand the difference of these microphones, I heard about, but cannot afford.

    It is not the Santa Monica Garage anymore and it will not create just a genuine ambience - you are able to work with that studio. I love to work with ambiences and I own a los of plugins, that do perfect job creating convolution reverbs of all kind. I like all of them, but Ocean Way Studios are different. Have your virtual clerks moving around the microphone setups and find YOUR sound in THAT studio.

    The old Ocean Way is wonderful, the new updated version even better!

    I recently recorded, mixed and mastered a jazz album recording for some members of the San Francisco Symphony, using a mix of great mics and other hardware, plus man of the wonderful Universal Audio plugins.

    But these band members couldn't agree on what the final mix balance and "sound" should be. You know the drill: one person wants to hear more reverb, another wants it to sound like it was recorded in 1953, etc. And to complicate matters everyone has their own sound system at home, from $50 headphones up to state of the art ribbon speakers, plus they are getting older so hearing loose plays a part, as does the room they listen to music in, especially if there "room" is a car! And no one is especially adept at communicating with recording engineers.

    So when, kind of out of desperation, I inserted the UAD Ocean Way plugin, and started messing with different room sizes, mic types (dynamic, condenser), mic brands, and placement (far, mid, near)... WOW things started to improve in the mix to the point that now everyone seems like like, even "love", the mix.

    Ok but CPU hungry. Need UAD-2 version!

    I was scared to update, having the almost unusable ( because of cpu need ) Sound City.

    This one sounds great, the graphics are improved (the older version is really small) and it seems to be a litlle bit less cpu hungry than its sound city sibling.

    I´m sure all of uns UAD-2 users would appreciate a DSP version. That´s what we bought the Octa-satellites for ;)
