The Console software has been extremely unstable. It crashes frequently, often forcing a full restart, which disrupts workflow. Basic actions such as resizing or moving the Console window introduce noticeable lag, which should not happen in a professional production environment.
The updated interface feels like a regression. Visually and functionally, it appears less refined than the previous version and still behaves like beta software rather than a finished product.
The feedback system is also frustrating. While users can submit reports, there is no mechanism for receiving replies or updates, giving the impression that customers are being used primarily as unpaid testers and bug reporters.
One longstanding issue remains particularly puzzling: the installer still offers no option to select which UAD plugins to install. Instead, it installs every available plugin across all formats (VST, VST3, AAX, UA, etc.), regardless of ownership. This consumes significant disk space and can negatively impact DAW performance. Users who own few or no UAD plugins are left to manually locate and remove unwanted files across multiple directories — an unnecessary and avoidable inconvenience.
Overall, the software experience feels poorly optimized and insufficiently polished for a premium ecosystem.
It might be time to finally make the move to RME Audio.
