I got hosed on the price and it is a real DSP hog to say the least (15% on my apollo quad) but the sound is just amazing. Pity I can't use very many instances of it at once

I've never owned an EQ of this caliber. Since taking the plunge cash- wise, I know understand the need for decent EQs. I work in an untreated basement and I can achieve much better mixes........so off to acoustically treat my basement. F&%#.

A great technical achievement.
It's incredible how this plugin sounds. I've been using it as a Insert or with the Unison Technology. Great results. Open-sounding and versatile, also pretty easy to use. Way better than the old 88rs IMHO.

very nice plugin
I use it with the Neumann TLM 103 for vocal recording and it gives the signal some kind of saturation, just makes it fat and less sounding digital. But it is very DSP hungry :) The EQ Section is very musical and works on almost every source

Another Great Plugin From UA
I have a lot of different EQ's from different manufacturers and UA is on the top of the list. The Neve 31102 plugin sounds so close to the Hardware version. For the money you can't go wrong! This gets 5 stars from me. Another great plugin from UA!!!

Distorted and clicky
Not sure what I'm doing wrong, I actually like the sound of it but when I play back it sounds distorted. Still working with it. I think the UNISON stuff is bullsh*t. I don't find it to be any different than using the insert slots. Whatever. It's also extremely huge. I am going to try to use nothing but a wee limiter. THat way I don't have to worry about some stupid rotten plug in trouble.

Excellent Sound Quality
This plugin works on pretty much anything. The only problem is that if you are using it as a Unison preamp you will be limited as to the amount of channels you will have it plugged into due to the high DSP on the Apollo.
Other than that... it is awesome!

Can I do without it on drums?
Yes, probably. But nothing comes close to the sound of my kickdrum with this one it. It has a character and punch that is really loveable! Filters are good to.

Very warm sounding
This plugin sounds great on everything I try it on. I find the presets are actually very usable too which is nice.
I have found it good to EQ some of my tracks adding and cutting certain areas to get better seperation.
Glad I made the purchase its been a very positive experience switching to the UAD plugins.

game changer
It's really amazing how UA modelled this so perfectly. Before buying I was testing it vs the API vision channel and they were pretty much "tied" until I pushed the gain on the neve. God.. The distortion is unbelievable.. Just like working with hardware. Now I always track through the neve 1073 to get the neve tone. Highly recommended.

Before I got the 1073
Before i bought the 1073, i bought this! and i really enjoy it! the distortion is comparable to the 73, but i wish it had an output know like the 73. I usually have to put a gain knob on after it to keep my levels in check.
