Native only for a plugin you're supposed to record with is beyond stupidity

What the title said.

not great

gain stage is a mess, sound is brittle, not a lot of settings (if the sound was great, wouldn't need but...) and no DSP. When compared to other native brands on pricing/features/sound, I can only give it one star.

Wonderful chimey tones!

Already have the Ruby '63 pedal and the ability to have those exact sounds from a plugin were too hard to resist. In my opinion Ruby '63 has more life and feel to the sound than any other competitor Vox style amp sim I've tried, hardware or software... The buy 3 deal made Lion & Dream plugins a solid option too and both are equally excellent. I hope the Woodrow '55 comes soon, as that's now the missing piece in my DAW

Needs more features to compete with modern amp sims

I was thrilled to see this excellent pedal being ported over to a plugin. Unfortunately, I could not get a "sound" out of it after scrolling through many presets; then I realized I had to turn up the output ALL THE WAY to get this into the realm of actually hearing it. Seems like the output gain structure needs adjustment. Most importantly, it is lacking key features that have become standard among other amp sims, notably:
1. the ability to change which mic is on which speaker model/cab
2. the ability to change the angle and/or distance from the speaker
3. guitar pedals before the amp input
4. EQ post amp output
Comparing this to Softube Vintage Amp Room, Neural DSP's Morgan Amps, STL Tonality and STL Tonality Andy James AC-30 sims, it leaves a lot to be desired. Also, if it is called Ruby, shouldn't the panel be Candy Apple Red?

SO GOOD!

I'm seeing a lot of complaints about these amp Sims but I think this ruby amp sounds amazing...thanks UAD!

Thanks, good.

It suddenly appeared in my Spark subscription, and I'm very happy with it. Yes, sounds like a mic'd AC30, waiting for the Unison version its worth to buy it.

fantastic sound and playabilty, but

another Gem! It really plays and sounds fantastic, and a very nice GUI, well done UA, however, only released as native UADx and not on UAD-2 is such a huge missed opportunity for UA to have the best modelling amp sims available at zero latency on our appollos. i dont get it why UA didnt take this chance and strengthen and underlining the importance and power of dsp interfaces in 2024!
Also its missing some basics like a tuner and a noise gate which should be included in any amp sim product nowadays.
I´m also missing a loyality price offering for users who own the hardware UAFX pedal and registered to the account.
