Record through Suhr's original high-gain amplifier.

The Suhr® SE100 amplifier was one of John Suhr’s first designs; a hand-wired, single-channel specimen that took the “modded Marshall” concept a step further, with unprecedented touch sensitivity and unrelenting amounts of gain.

Developed by Brainworx — and fully endorsed by John Suhr — the Suhr SE100 Amplifier plug-in perfectly captures the original amplifier's tonal array, expertly emulating its custom "plexi-style" transformers and EL34-powered output section. And it’s available exclusively for UAD hardware and UA Audio Interfaces.

Now You Can:

Use your UA Interface to track through the Suhr SE100 — with no latency

Audition 120 high-end recording chains, featuring multiple cabinets and classic microphones

Shape tones further with FX Rack’s Vintage Delay, noise gate, high/low filters, and more

Easily craft dynamic clean, crunch, and hot-rodded British tones with exquisitely-voiced tone controls

Single-Channel Madness

Single-Channel Madness

The Suhr SE100 began its life as a highly lusted after preamp mod for vintage Marshalls. Soon after, the circuit found its way into the legendary CAA 3+ preamp used by Steve Lukather, Michael Landau, Scott Henderson, and Eddie Van Halen on VH’s 1991, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge album. Soon after, Suhr incorporated the design into the EL34-powered SE100 amplifier.

Designed with Suhr SE100 power user, and rock specialist Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio), the Suhr SE100 plug-in artfully captures the original hardware’s copious amount of gain, touch-sensitive response, and 100-watt aggression for rock tones that are truly earth shaking.

Suhr SE100 FX Rack

Suhr SE100 FX Rack

The Suhr SE100 plug-in offers additional control over your tones via the Brainworx FX Rack. It features a Noise Gate, switchable high and low-pass filters, and a Power Soak circuit that allows you to dial in as much power amp goodness as you want, without having to crank the output gain.

The Suhr SE100 also includes 120 impulse response Recording Chains that were captured from several boutique cabinets and recorded through Brainworx's vintage Neve console with an array of high-end and vintage microphones and outboard gear, giving you "record ready" tones, instantly.

Unison™ Technology for UA Audio Interfaces

Power and warmth

I’m not a guitar player and I can’t judge the feeling: All I was looking for is a warm power chord sound for a guitar that we recorded for reamping in a symphonic rock arrangement. I tried all the UA Amps and in the end it was Friedman vs. Suhr. This one compliments the strings so well and adds beautiful warmth to the arrangement! I would immediately buy it again for this purpose!

Very interesting..

Ok, I don't do a lot of distortion, I strum open chords, country style, G D C F etc.
On a Telecaster, so twang is what I need.

Thus, the breaking up is paramount. And not have those screaming, glassy tones.
A good Twin Reverb is what I need, and a Royer 121, or a Shure SM57.

This can actually do that quite well, and I've tried 'em all. The break up dies a little too soon for me. So it helps to compress it a little with my Faitchild Limiter (because I have that now, because I'm not stupid LOL).

I know it can be done because Kemper has done it. For 1600 Dollars though!

I like that sound much better at this price hehe. And if you wanna rock more, with more dist, it's almost too simple to get it right with this one.

Thanks again for the great deals, your hard work, and last but not least, Just for being!

My favorite amp sim!

This is by far the closest to what I want to hear out of an amp sim plugin.

Brainworx, now that we have this, would be fantastic to also get either a Suhr SL67 or S68 plug-in. The existing Marshall Plexi plugin doesn’t cut it for cranked tones.

Not overblown!

The Suhr SE100 allows me to get a realistic guitar tone without a bunch of artificial amp noise or other unwanted artifacts that lessen the usability of other offerings. In my view, this is the best yet of the UAD amp modeling plugins and I can finally commit to a tone when recording!

Very good Alternative

I am using the Suhr SE100 als an Alternitive to my Marshall JCM 800 Lead, because it´s very easy to use instead of Reamping with an Hardware Amplifier. Very usefull. I would like to buy it again if i haven´t.

A Winner !

I own the Marshall bundle and the Suhr gets you the modern sound you would expect from a modded Marshall amp. I use this for writing Modern Rock and Metal cues and it delivers.
I highly recommend this amp sim.

Great rock amp !

Great natural sound high gain rock amp, also those hard to get in between and clean tones are all there ! no need to mic my early eighties Marshall JCM 800 anymore for recording !!!

Close but not there yet

Just with the Suhr PT100 Amplifier the SE100 sounds very good but as usual the Brainworx emulations tend to lack some life in the low end and the midrange sounds too much like filtered white noise and not like organic overtones. The Brainworx stuff also tends to have a similar sonic footprint. No matter what amp emulation you use the overall tonal balance seems rather similar, even though the original amps are different kind of beasts. Anyway, it is great to see progress on the amp emulation front. Great to see more dedicated emulations and less of the GuitarRig / AmpliTube approach with tons and tons but really bad emulations. Keep up the work guys!

Potencia y mucha versatilidad

Esta emulación cumple todas mis expectativas de un amplificador potente, consiguiendo sonidos distorsionados, overdrive y limpios. Feliz
