Get the Clean Sound of a Premium Brickwall Limiter

The Precision Limiter plug-in is a single-band, look-ahead brickwall limiter made primarily for use with program material. Easy to use, the Precision Limiter plug-in is a colorless, transparent mastering limiter. No upsampling is used, nor does the Precision Limiter pass audio through any filters — audio remains untouched unless the compressor is working, in which case, only gain is affected.

    Nice and old

I think it sounds great as a master limiter.

The UI does not reflect the quality of the plugin though.

It's very low resolution and it feels it has been blown up from low tes images.

    Sounds good - looks terrible.

Precision Limiter: Flawless Operation, Urgent UI Update Required

The Precision Limiter is absolutely indispensable to my workflow. Its operation is flawless, offering a level of simplicity that belies its robustness. It's straightforward yet entirely trustworthy. Furthermore, the inclusion of a dedicated True Peak limiting feature is highly advisable, as it is crucial for adhering to current international loudness standards and would significantly enhance the limiter's professional utility. However, I believe all of Precision's current plugins are somewhat underestimated due to their user interface (GUI). Their other creations, too, possess significant market competitiveness and deserve re-evaluation, provided their GUIs are adequately modernized. I feel it's crucial for not just the Limiter, but the entire Precision product line, to take a proactive step towards receiving the recognition they genuinely deserve.

It really is a brick wall

Every time I try something else I end up right back here with the UAD Precision Limiter. It sounds great and does what it is supposed to do… just like hardware.

Yes, you’ll need an Apollo audio interface, UAD-2 Satellite, or UAD-2 PCIe card to run these plug-ins, using the onboard DSP. The plug-ins run on the hardware itself, without adding strain to your computer’s CPU. In an Apollo, onboard DSP processing allows you to run realtime UAD plug-ins with near-zero latency, and even record that processing directly to your DAW.

Yes, you can start a fully functional 14-day demo from any plug-in bundled with the UAD software. Simply click “Start Demo”, and start using it in your DAW.

UAD-2 licenses follow the hardware, it does not matter which computer they are connected to. You can have up to six UAD-2 devices registered to a system in your Universal Audio account, which share those licenses. See UAD-2 Plug-In Licensing Explained for full details. Authorization of UAD-2 hardware is managed by the UAD Meter & Control Panel Application.
