Dealer Focus: West L.A. Music

A 2-610 having fun at West LA Music with some other nice toys.
Known as “Southern California’s legendary music store,” West L.A. Music was 'there' when rock history was being made, supplying equipment to top musicians and producers around the world. From onstage at the California Jam in the 70's, to the digital multimedia 90's, to the seemingly limitless creative options of today, West L.A. Music has helped the best ...be their best.

“[UA Products] have the type of sound- a warmth and human feel- that so many of our customers are looking for. I’ve specified Universal Audio products for countless recording facilities and music production pros.”

The company provides consultation for anyone who is considering purchasing a studio design. This entails meeting with customers and assessing their composing and/or recording needs. “We determine how many inputs and outputs are needed, and what hardware and software platforms would be best for each customer’s needs,” says West L.A. Music’s Joe Taupier. “Once a customer has purchased a system, we work out all of the details, drawing up signal flow diagrams and charts for cable connections, rack layout and all hardware to be integrated into the system. Many times, our final systems include products from Universal Audio. Products like the 1176LN and the Teletronix LA-2A.”

Derek Snyder, West L.A. Music’s professional sales department manager agrees, adding, “They have the type of sound--- a warmth and human feel--- that so many of our customers are looking for. I’ve specified Universal Audio products for countless recording facilities and music production pros. The quality of sound is impeccable!”

Major facilities, Producers and Artists have come to rely on West L.A. Music when it comes to their recording options. And as the industry standard shifts to Pro Tools, West L.A. Music is in the lead, providing the right options for their customers, many times configuring traditional technologies with new Pro Tools systems, often including Universal Audio products. “They really are an appropriate choice because of their sound quality and reputation,” says Snyder. “And we have configured many, many Pro Tools systems.” In fact, almost no one has designed and installed more Digidesign systems than West L.A. Music.
