Playback: You Send Us Your Music, and We Play it Back

There were quite a few great tunes and great descriptions this month- we don't like picking just one- but Chance gets the nod for pointing out the "squash the drums on a duplicate bus" trick with the 1176LN, and for using the Fairchild on backing vocals.

March '06 Winner: Chance

Chance writes:

I used the 1176N to squash the drums (a stereo track that I use in addition to the individual tracks to add to create tons of punch and bottom).

I used the Fairchild on the background vox because I really wanted them together as a sound. They have this barbershop quartet blended vibe to it.

I used the Cambridge EQ and the Fairchild to Faux Master the mix as well.

I also used the LA-2A on the bass during recording. It helps tremendously with both color and compression.

Love my UA-Studio pak, so enjoy the mix!
