Released in October, 2009, UAD Software Version 5.5.0 represents another step forward for the award-winning UAD Powered Plug-In platform. It includes the colourful new Trident A-Range Classic Console EQ plug-in for UAD-1 and UAD-2, enhancements for EMT 250 and 1176LN/SE plug-ins, and performance improvements for Mac users.

• UAD software REQUIRES a UAD DSP Accelerator Card in order to audition and use Powered Plug-Ins
• Install the UAD software before the hardware. See Chapter 2 of the UAD Manual for detailed installation instructions
• Fully-functional 14-day demos are provided for all Powered Plug-Ins

• The UAD software installer is identical for all UAD hardware

• (Mac) Resolved excessive UAD-2 unload times when quitting Logic Pro
• (Mac) Resolved UAD-1e wake from sleep issue on some Mac Pro systems
• (Mac) Fixed scrolling of horizontal controls which were previously reversed

• Important note for RTAS users running Windows Vista: The Mellowmuse ATA v1.4 plug-in for RTAS included in the UAD v5.5.0 installer will not load under Windows Vista, causing an "invalid authorization error" when Pro Tools scans the ATA plug-in. Please see the Detailed Release Notes page for more information about this issue.
• A new authorization file must be loaded for each release. After installation and reboot, you will be prompted to automatically obtain the new authorization file the first time you launch the UAD Meter & Control Panel application. Alternately, after installing the software and rebooting, simply click the "Authorize Plug-Ins" button in the UAD Meter & Control Panel "Plug-Ins" pane to obtain the authorization file.
