LUNA Digital Audio Workstation Reviews

I reviewed this before and the Midi implementation is a bit better than I thought. It'd be great to have some tools built in for midi routing (midi FX in general) besides the arp. But the Arp plugin is quite nice and sounds good. I like that I can use that to send stuff to hardware synths. I still stand by my statement that the sounds is excellent and closer to tape than most DAWs imo. It feels like I'm using a tape machine again with a control interface (although the track sliders don't work right). With a few enhancements this would be the best DAW out there. It's intuitive and sounds great.

I'd first like to say it wouldn't be fair to compare LUNA's set of features to other DAWs that have been developed for decades. LUNA is astounding for what it has to offer at this stage of its conception. Universal Audio keeps the momentum flowing with constant updates---adding their own useful or community requested features. All of the current features are implemented in ways I find to be extremely intuitive and aesthetically pleasing. In my opinion, LUNA has the most premium looking UI of any DAW I have ever used. Everything is designed beautifully and attentively.

My only nag is the midi functionality seemingly being an afterthought for this platform. It's clear as day they're gearing this DAW towards the more traditional engineer workflow. As a producer and engineer, I'm hopeful they make LUNA more rounded for the creatives in future updates. My review will remain 5 stars for now. I'm confident they will close the gap eventually.

I really like the look and feel. The workflow and signal flow is great. Feels a bit more like a "studio" than other DAWs. This does everything I need and I've been using it almost exclusively for recording and mixing for the last few months. I'm running the free version with UAD native and third party AU plugins just fine on my Mac. No issues.

I like being able to access all the tools I need in the different windows, but I can also easily hide them when I don't need them. Editing timing of my tracks is easy. Mixing is easy. And I really appreciate the regular updates and added features. It keeps getting better and better!
