Infuse your Mixes with Iconic 1970s Effects
The EMT 250 Classic Electronic Reverb plug-in is a faithful emulation of the world’s first digital reverb and modulation unit, introduced in 1976. Still regarded as one of the best reverbs ever made, the EMT 250 has left an immeasurable mark on record-making history, having been used by legendary producers from George Massenburg and Bruce Swedien to Daniel Lanois, Brian Eno, and Allen Sides.
Get the Sound of Countless Classics
The EMT 250’s distinctive clear and open reverb sound has appeared on countless records, including Prince & The Revolution’s Purple Rain, Elvis Costello’s Spike, and modern classics like The Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Stadium Arcadium.
From Ocean Way to your Studio
Fully endorsed by EMT, the UAD EMT 250 plug-in uses the same algorithm found in the original, extremely rare hardware — modeling a sourced “golden unit” that resides at the famed Ocean Way Recording.
Explore a Classic Reverb with Modern Features
The EMT 250 plug-in goes far beyond the original hardware, adding modern workflow-enhancing features like Dry/Wet Mix, Wet Solo, and Hard bypass. With these useful additions, the EMT 250 plug-in becomes even more powerful than the iconic hardware.
What They Say
The EMT 250 and EMT140 emulations [for UAD] are stunning. They're just absolutely phenomenal.
Ryan Hewitt
Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Avett Brothers
Forget any other plate emulation, the UAD EMT 250 could actually be the real thing. Deep, wide, and full of personality.
Rik Simpson
Coldplay, Portishead, Jay Z
I use the EMT 250 because it has such a specific sound, and the UAD plug-in really does capture it.
I use it in every project but when I travel I can't use it and its really annoying.. I then end up using other plugins and I think many other producers have the same problem!
can you please make this native ASAP?
thanks

Solid reverb
It’s a classic, I got it because I know the hardware version was used in some records that I like. It’s a good reverb with some nice presets. I’ll have to take some time to learn the details a bit better, but it seems to have some cool effects that aren’t just strictly reverb.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you’ll need an Apollo audio interface, UAD-2 Satellite, or UAD-2 PCIe card to run these plug-ins, using the onboard DSP. The plug-ins run on the hardware itself, without adding strain to your computer’s CPU. In an Apollo, onboard DSP processing allows you to run realtime UAD plug-ins with near-zero latency, and even record that processing directly to your DAW.
Yes, you can start a fully functional 14-day demo from any plug-in bundled with the UAD software. Simply click “Start Demo”, and start using it in your DAW.
UAD-2 licenses follow the hardware, it does not matter which computer they are connected to. You can have up to six UAD-2 devices registered to a system in your Universal Audio account, which share those licenses. See UAD-2 Plug-In Licensing Explained for full details. Authorization of UAD-2 hardware is managed by the UAD Meter & Control Panel Application.
