Mix with a World-Famous Algorithmic Reverb
Released in 1986, the Lexicon® 480L Digital Effects System and its iconic remote control reside at the center of famous studio consoles the world over. The Lexicon 480L Digital Reverb and Effects plug-in brings the only Lexicon-endorsed emulation of this classic studio reverb — capturing its unique ambience and modulation.
Put a Digital Classic to Work
The Lexicon 480L Digital Reverb and Effects plug-in dutifully captures the complex space, texture, and otherworldly reverb tails that can transform vocal, guitar, synth, or drum tracks from mundane to heavenly.
Explore an Infinitely Shapeable Reverb
Shimmering or dense, immediate or blooming, the 480L lets you create almost any space with Shape and Spread parameters and famous Split Decay Reverb algorithms. Adjust the Random algorithm's Spin and Wander parameters to customize the movement.
Create Stunning Multi-Effects
In addition to Lexicon's prized reverbs, the 480L plug-in's random time-varying Effects algorithm gives you dramatic reverse, doubling, tremolo, and chorus sounds. Combined with its unique four-voice Twin Delay algorithm, the Effects algorithm turns the 480L into a multi-effects system with unending creative potential.
Built for your Modern Workflow
The Lexicon 480L's iconic Alphanumeric Remote Control wasn't the easiest interface to grasp. Thankfully, the plug-in gives you an expanded parameter display, along with other workflow enhancements to make the tricky original controls easier to understand.
Find a Sound with Grammy-Winning Presets
The Lexicon 480L plug-in gives your mixes a head start with over 100 artist presets from Grammy-winning 480L power users like Spike Stent (Beyoncé), Chuck Zwicky (Nine Inch Nails), Ian Boxill (Janet Jackson), Jacknife Lee (U2), and more.
What They Say
This is a beautiful recreation of a truly wonderful reverb. It’s very musical and like a lot of great pieces, it’s deep. You can get lost in it if you have the time.
Jacknife Lee
R.E.M, The Cars, Snow Patrol
The UAD Lexicon 480L really captures the subtleties of the old-school hardware. You can’t get this anywhere else — unless you source a vintage 480.

Late Night with Seth Meyers, Wilco, Ryan Adams
The UAD Lexicon 480L gives 90’s mojo in plug-in form — the sound is indistinguishable from the original hardware.

480L plug in
Magnificent! The 480L plug in really delivers. Having worked with hardware ones for many years, the UA plug in did not disappoint sound wise, or in the user interface. All for an amazing price. Thank you UA.

Just like the original
I worked with one of these in school many years ago on an SSL 4000 G-series console and loved it. The studio had its own reverb chamber as well as several other high-end racked reverb emulators but the Lexicon always sounded superior. As much as I love UA plugins I figured I’d hear the differences on this unit having spent countless hours with the original and I can’t. I spent a lot of time sculpting different reverbs with the original 480 and now I can do the same at home with my very own at a fraction of the price. In my opinion and I’m not alone, this is the ultimate reverb unit ever made and this plugin is just like the original.

That Sparkling 80s Sound
I’ve used the original Lexicon 480L in studios, and this plugin truly holds up. It captures that unmistakable, shimmering 80s character and adds a beautiful depth and richness to any track. The sound quality is excellent and the interface makes it easy to dial in.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you’ll need an Apollo audio interface, UAD-2 Satellite, or UAD-2 PCIe card to run these plug-ins, using the onboard DSP. The plug-ins run on the hardware itself, without adding strain to your computer’s CPU. In an Apollo, onboard DSP processing allows you to run realtime UAD plug-ins with near-zero latency, and even record that processing directly to your DAW.
Yes, you can start a fully functional 14-day demo from any plug-in bundled with the UAD software. Simply click “Start Demo”, and start using it in your DAW.
UAD-2 licenses follow the hardware, it does not matter which computer they are connected to. You can have up to six UAD-2 devices registered to a system in your Universal Audio account, which share those licenses. See UAD-2 Plug-In Licensing Explained for full details. Authorization of UAD-2 hardware is managed by the UAD Meter & Control Panel Application.
