Analog Design Engineer

My love of music started very early. My mom was always playing music. My first fav band was the Beatles (my mom's fav) and all the other rock of that time: Janis, The Doors, Jimi, etc. I started playing guitar in junior high, and not that long afterwards, I realized how much electronics have to do with guitar and rock in general. I was the guy in the band that always was trying new pickups, stomp boxes etc.

After high school, I decided to take some electronics classes at the local junior college. My intention was just to learn more about what makes music gear tick, and to be able to fix and mod my own gear. It turned out that I really liked electronics and had a decent aptitude for it, so I continued with the program. At about the same time I got a Yamaha 4 track, and that was the beginning of my multi-track recording career. Since then it has been a continuous march towards being the full-blown gear junkie that I am today.

I currently have a 16 track setup in a very full spare bedroom that is about to get a new home. My wife and I recently purchased a home that has a detached garage a.k.a. studio. This will be my first purpose built set of rooms, and I am taking the time to do it correctly. There will of course be plenty of UA gear, both hardware and a couple UAD-1 cards.

I came to UA about a year ago from a job I loved. It did not take long to realize I made a really good choice. The people here at UA are awesome to work with, and the products speak for themselves. I use UA gear daily in my studio; the hardware for tracking, and plug-ins for mixing and mastering. I am always finding a new cool tone. Working here and seeing all the work that is put in to the UAD-1 plug-ins, just confirms what my ears are telling me. They rock and are made with great attention to tone. They actually model each and every component. It is just an amazing process to watch.
