EMT 140 Classic Plate Reverb
The EMT 140 Classic Plate Reverberator plug-in for UAD-2 hardware and Apollo interfaces gives you the organic lushness that only plate reverb can provide. By expertly modeling three uniquely different EMT 140s installed at The Plant Studios in Sausalito, California, the EMT 140 plug-in will infuse your sources with the unmistakable warmth and beauty of this iconic plate reverb.
EMT 250 Classic Electronic Reverb
Still regarded as one of the best-sounding reverb units ever made, the EMT® 250 Classic Electronic Reverb plug-in for UAD-2 and Apollo interfaces is a faithful emulation of the first digital reverb/modulation effects unit introduced in 1976. Designed in conjunction with EMT, the UAD plug-in version uses the same algorithms found in the original, extremely rare hardware. The EMT 250 plug-in was modeled from Allen Sides’ “golden unit” EMT 250 that resides at the legendary United/Ocean Way Recording.

Other plate reverb plugins are just imitators
I thought I had decent plate reverb plugin options until I tried the EMT 140. This is the real deal and the 3 plate options make it flexible for a wide variety of sources. I like to use the darker plate for a brighter source and the brighter plate for a darker source. This approach works very well for me.

Natural sound
This is a great open sounding reverb. One of the biggest ways this has impacted me is by using it as a writing tool and monitoring with it while playing. For both vocals and guitars I've seen this sound transform the way both myself and others are performing. Where once an empty space would be filled with superfluous notes and words it is allowed to breathe as this warm reverb gently decays. Couldn't recommend this effect enough.

Simply Amazing
Owned the EMT 250 before purchasing the 140...compliments it so wel. My go to on vocals and soft synth leads. It put a couple of my other reverbs to rest.

Very nice reverb! Very satisfied! Studio not fungible thing! The only thing that can be said about the ins company - a little expensive in the price! A first-class processing quality!

Thanks!

Mind=Blown!
This has totally brought a new kind of ambiance to my acoustic guitar track! The filter option is a generous idea! Love it!

My #1 all-time favorite artificial reverb.
I've been a UAD user for 11 years now and haven't written a review yet. I'm going to remedy this, starting with my favorite plugin: The EMT 140 (or, as it was originally called, "UAD Plate 140").
This is the best reverb I've ever used. It's over a decade old and nothing that's come ou in those intervening years has come close; convolution, room simulations, spot-on emulations of classic digital boxes; they all pale in comparison to the mighty EMT 140. There's other great reverbs out there, but there's something so organic and "real"-sounding about this one. It can be lush, it can be spooky, it excels on vocals, acoustic instruments, synths... anything you can throw at it that needs a big, warm, beautiful reverb. Classic.J. Massey
Hands down favorite reverb plug.
This thing is extremely real sounding. Love it!

For Vocals, it kicks ass. Snares are also OK...
I've used this for vocals on 'B' setting (A is too bright, C is too dull for vocals - usually) on loads of productions. It always sounds great. Dial in a little mod.. I've also used it for 'Life in a day' Beatles snare emulation - distant and lots of pre-delay. Amazing result.. Lots of other reverbs about, obviously, but the beauty of this one is the simple setup. Simple filter, pre-delay, etc. Quick and easy lovely reverb. Just sounds great without all the messing with 50 parameters. UAD plugs are expensive, and I'm a bit miffed that I had to pay to go UAD2 after already owning UAD1, and then not being allowed to auto upgrade fairchild or LA2A which I already paid for.. I have to go 'legacy', but there you go... This plug-in is very good

This is my favorite
This reverb is my favorite reverb to use. I love it, it sounds great on anything! Got it during one of the promotions, and I'm so glad I was able to get it. I will be using this thing whenever I can

Blown Away!
The EMT 140 is one of only a few pieces of vintage gear that I have never used. That being said, I don't feel like I could be missing out on much now that I have this plugin version. There doesn't seem to be any bad settings, and the EQ is really useable unlike most plugin reverbs. It's been one of those things that immediately found its way into every mix I work on. It's now the first reverb I try on nearly everything.

Just great.
This is my new favorite reverb, very versatile, I'm still experimenting with it, but I manage to make it sound great everytime!
A great deep warm sound.
I need to try the 250 too now! ;)J. Ortega
Spaces!
This is my first UA reverb plugin and its so good!! The spaces from this unit are very 3D and really give separation from other elements in the mix. By far the best Plate reverb I have, highly recommended!
