MAAG EQ4
Had the hardware version from when the company was called Nightpro. The plug in works jut like the original hardware with one exception, the Sub and Air bands need to the pushed between .5 and 1 db more to achieve same results as hardware. Not a big deal.
P.S. I still have a four channel Nightpro PreQa (with the Air Band) that I would never let go.

J'ai pu essayer cet EQ pendant quelques jours, et effectivement le Air Band est très très efficace, et très joli sur les voix, jamais agressif. C'est un EQ assez subtil finalement, cranté, et en ne tournant certaines fréquences que de 1db ou 0,5 db on peut arriver à des choses très réussies. Ca marche vraiment sur les voix, mais également sur les guitares acoustiques ou nylon.

How else to get THAT air?!
Awesome plugin. I haven't yet found a way to get that air from any other plugin or hardware. No harshness at all! Love that 40kHz. The sub and low band are also very useful, especially for kick drum. That midrange is just right for al lot of things. It's a pity the midrange isn't sweepable. On the other hand, you can quite instantly determine whether this is the right plugin for a certain situation. I love it.

Subtle but musical
This is a nice EQ, it is very musical. It is fairly subtle though in the Air band range though, at least that is what I have found. Compared to other "Air" type EQ's, like the Clariphonic and Clariphonic MKII DSP, this doesn't add quite the same audible clarity boost at the top end.
The only other criticism I have is that it is a bit tricky to level match this. You have to fiddle with the output level a lot to ensure that the volume is the same before and after using Maag EQ 4.
But if you want a musical EQ, this is a nice EQ to have in your arsenal. A level matching option would be nice in a future release.

Great on vocals
Very smooth sounding EQ - using it particularly for my vocals, but does a great job on synths as well!

Took some time for me to grasp how to use this plugin but when I got the just it simply rocked. Adds a lush sheen to my vocals.

Nice Air
I can`t tell if the eq is really the most musical one or not, i use it for the AIR band. It works. I also don´t get why people need a difference to the Plugin Alliance version and hope the cooperation goes on. The prices are nearly the same and obviously synced, the only difference is regarding running natively or dsp-powerd, where both has each advantages/disadvantages. I hope some day, we have one big Plugin Store, where you buy a plugin and get it in both versions, DSP powered and Native. Also you don`t have to download multiple bundles when setting up a new computer. This is my dream ... and a DSP powered H3000 Factory ;)

Best post mixing eq
The Maag EQ4 instantly showed me which direction to go. Great on drum sounds, post-editing and or giving edge and harmonic drive to your tracks. The air lift is fantastic. UA did a great job emulating this from the original hardware! Tops

Interesting EQ here.
I've never used the hardware, so I cannot vouch for this plugins accuracy in that regard. I've used this plugin a little bit now, and it's quite interesting. I like it. It's different. Very different. It always takes me time to find out how to really use new gear and plugins as if they were second nature. Allot like learning a new scale and trying to implement it into your improvisation. This EQ has some very specific bands they have selected for you. Somewhat odd if you ask me. They all sound "good" though. The Air band is really great and really where its at for me on this plugin. The sub and 40hz are great too. So far this is a low low hz and high up hz EQ.

Breathe some life into the sound
Definitely breathes some life into the sound.
It somehow boosts the level too much, though; e.g., take a piano track that has no sub, and crank up the sub knob, and you'll hear the volume rise. Not a huge fan of that.
