Ampex ATR-102 Mastering Tape Recorder Reviews

Cool emulation
But GP9 needs +6 and +9 over standard because we used it at those levels.
GP9 was bias similar to 499 so it was used at +6 interchangeably with 499 but was a +9 Tape which some rock productions used for grime like recording bass or gtr line at 30ips while player plays line 1 octave up then play back at 15ips or do the opposite of above by octave down 1 at 15ips them playback at 30 ips. These give you such crazy types of grime you hear in rock productions in the 1990s
At +6 you could it the tape hard like 499 but with less distortion .
Play with bias to shape the response curve. MORE HI END DIP at MIDS AND BASS BOOST or opposite.

Sounds great, i'll definitely place it in my mastering chain, but it was quite tricky to install, nevertheless now that it's installed, it's really great...

Not sure I would use this for mastering. More like a colouring plug-in from what I make of it. Can’t dial in the master like I would like to. Would use as a saturation unit. Maybe I’m using it wrong. Not much to learn tutorial wise online.
