Perfection

A MUST HAVE!!! If you are serious about your music no matter the instrument this thing is magical and musical!! I've used the hardware in many studios all over the world, the characteristics are identical.. I often do mixes on the go from my Laptop and this is on everything. Many are shocked when I tell them I did it all using my Satellite and LA!!!

Fairchild is excellent

Fairchild is excellent, but, as soon as I bought the price dropped to 149 it's unfair I wanted to buy Precision Mastering bundle but it is now expensive...:)

Unexpected Mojo

I forgot I could still demo these, and when I did...well, out came the credit card. I'm running everything I can through these plugs. The way they just bring stale sounds alive is...unlike anything I've ever heard, I don't even touch the compression. Defined stereo imaging, warm, thick character...brilliant. Mind you, like most the new UA stuff, these bad boys are DSP hogs, so you'll be rendering to audio a bit, but good god are they worth it. The "regular" LA2A's ability to add some serious snap to a kick also deserves mention, while the silver I tend to drive sounds into to smash transients and add a little bit of grist. The "Grey" is a bit more of a refined sound to my ear, good for vocals and such!

New Go-to EQ!

I demoed the EQ-1A and MEQ5 and then just bought the collection outright. Insane sound here, nothing like any plug I've used before. Smooth, sweet, warm response, with the ability to carefully bring out character in an instrument in a warm and musical way. The EQ-1A works wonders on anything lacking a bit of sheen, boom, or need a bit of control, while the MEQ5's mid-cut clears up the "boxy" on drums in a way that used to take me several plugs to get (and nowhere near as smooth-sounding, mind you). Of all my recent UA purchases, THIS collection is my favorite!

Vibe n' Goodness.

I bought the UA 610 Collection mostly because they were the cheapest unity preamp plugs, expecting it to be pretty much a one-trick pony. Oh how very wrong I was.

The 610 A has a beautifully lush Tube character that makes it wonderful for overdrives sounds. It's the more extreme pre of the two, with some major (and good) coloring and much more noticeable saturation and EQ sound. I love using it to rough up some of the synths I own, or add some (much needed) crunch to a snare or break.

The 610 B is a bit different animal. It's more subtle in its tonal coloration, and the EQ is much more forgiving, with switchable freq. options and more play in boost/cut. I'm using this one on everything, even just to add a little character.

Ace stuff!

Acceptibru!!!

I can't say that I am completely up on how the original hardware sounded, but I cannot deny the merits of these plugins. These plugins and the Apollo working in tandem is a game changer. We recorded an entire album using only the Apollo plugs and it sounds great. In fact, local artists were so pleased with the sound of the album, we have been approached by 4 different acts to produce their next album. Not a gloat; rather, it is a testament to the quality that UA offers with regard to digital emulation of analogue sounds.

660 670....

My mastering house runs my productions through an AT-670. With a bit of difference i have that feel on my separate stems-tracks/busses now.. It does great leveling and compression. From bringing out reverbs more elegantly to the front whilst staying in the back of a mix, to bass pressure / punch and much much more... Love it! Thanks UA!

NITTY GRITTY

Another great update from UA!! Agian like the 1176 3 different emulations!! Just awesome to be able to get that gritty levelling sound, from 3 different `coloured` units..
Great on many sorts of tracks! :-)

1176 EMU

Many have been emulated in the past.. This one nails it best for me... I`m very pleased with the 3 different 1176`s. The choice of different transients and `distortions / compression / levelling etc., shape it, make it fit!

LA-2A is the way...

I owned the Legacy classic collection and really liked the LA-2A Legacy, but when I demoed the LA-2A Collection I was stunned at how much more brilliance you get with these... it took me a few minutes to place the order. I love all of them the same for different reasons. On vocals and bass there is nothing better, unless you own and 1176 as I also do and that is also a perfect piece of gear and great to chain to the LA-2A to open up more greatness. Thanks again, UAD, your algorithms are the best in the business, thanks to all of your engineers and scientist who do such great work : )

Incredible Comp!

I own the LA-2A collection, and if you look online there are thousands of people who swear by the LA-2A for vocals and bass etc., but what I didn't know is how great the 1176 sounds on vocals, just stellar. That was something I did not expect and when you chain it to an LA-2A you even get more possibilities. I love this piece of gear and I will use it on everything and often. Thanks, UAD!

UA 610a

Just got an fund raiser Multi cd finished for a friend, started on old system. I was ok with it , but wanted to chop a three song classical guitar set down so it would get played. Just for fun I popped the 610a in the front of the signal chain, wow !!!
It blew me away, I'm talking 15% improvement big open air! this was recorded with studio live on location. I think the unison pre's will be my new go to tool, along with some VTM on the tail. Thanks

Great compressors

This is all the 1176 flavor you will ever need in the box. Love the A on Vocals, the F on bass and guitars, and the AE on kick with the SLO mode engaged.

super cool colors, and the multi button modes are great to be able to play around with (not just all in :) )

THE LA 2A Collection

I used to own a UAD Preamp (LA610MKII) and i loved the T4 Opto Kompressor (La2A Kindish) on vocals and Bass and so on....

i sold it, because this collection gave me 3 different opportunitys to work with and since i use the Apollo i also got the 610B Unision Preamp for free...sounds even better !
I am using the silver La2A for Vocal Recording to get a rid of the higher Peaks (while in Limit Mode) and after that i put my UAD Pultec EQ with some small processing steps.
I Use the grey LA2A Emulation on my Apollo Interface to Limit (KiLL) high peaks after coming back into the DAW...that works so fantastic...even though its not very fast in attack. it just gives me more level with very very nice sound....
