Gotta Have The "A" With My "B"
So I had the 610B...it came with my Apollo Twin Duo (which I love BTW). Added a quad satellite recently and have been wanting the 610A for a while..so...had to do it. For those that are seeking help, here's the lowdown. The B is a modern, warm but glossy, dare I say pretty preamp. The 610A is that vintage, warm, organic tone that is great on acoustic guitar, upright piano, strat toned guitar, etc.
The purchase gave me both ends of the spectrum, and coupled Pultec, LA2A's, 1176, Tube Tech and other classic gear from UA, it's astonishing what you can achieve. At the end of the day, it's a great recording comes from you. But, it's nice to know that UA provides the answer to your inspired moments...the solution to your need for vibe. thx UA.

There's a reason this plugin is iconic...
That reason is it boost and reduces bass at the same time. You have to hear it to believe it. It has it's own tone, but once you know how to use it you can boost those lows without getting mud. Here's how to do it: CPS at 30. Bandwidth to 7. ATTN to 10. Start boost at 0 and slowly turn it up. Bass will be epic. Wanna do vocals? MEQ-5. EQP-1A. Your voice is now gold. This is a must have plugin.

UAD + UNISON = Totally Amazed
I tried it after some days after buy it, to slowdown my expectations, and keep my head and ears cold and accurate. I had to use it because my apollo was required for a production running with real 610 solo preamps. All people in the room (and me) were amazed on the incredible performance on the plugin thought the UNISON preamp. Amazing work and excellent emulation!!! Proud of this plugin.

Love the UAD plugins, especially the La-2a collection. My favourite is the silver face but they all offer something very usable! I have two Apollo's and i love that i can use them on the way in!! Keep up the good work UAD!!

Loving This Plug-In!
Besides being a great tool for getting sounds to gel and "sit" in the track better, I'm loving using it on a drum bus submix aux channel, and generally loving what it does on bass and drums, especially the Silver. Great job UAD!

Works on everything!!
I held out on the MK2 version for a long time. I finally demoed the LA2A Mk2 and was immediately impressed. Sounds beautiful on everything from bass, to vox, to guitar. Hoping to be able to grab the1176 MK2 soon! thanks for the great products UA!

Simply AMAZING!!
There is no way around being skeptical if upgrading your legacy plugins to MK2 is going to be worth it or not. The Fairchild bundle is simply worth every penny!! It instantly adds the character that I am looking for and being able to have multiple Fairchilds at hand is simply a NO BRAINER!!!!

Chili Pepper's Tone
I've been a fan of the Chili Peppers since I was a teen and this really gets the sound, esp. when paired with the Neve plug ins. Nice job. Probably not as good as the real deal, but it's also a lot cheaper, and you get three of them.

A great addition to your kit
This is great for gentle compression when tracking or for smoothing things out at the mixing stage. I also own the Fairchild which has a very different sound and its great to be able to switch between them or even chain them

This is one of my favorites! I have used it on the master fader for mixing ever since i purchased it. BUT a one rack version
would make this perfect!

This is one (610-b) is my favourite especially for acoustic guitars. Very easy to use and great sound. Also does not consums a lot of dsp.

So warm so good
As soon as I tried it, I knew I was going to love these pre-amps. I'm using the UA610A on voices (which make them sound warm instantly) and the UA610B on accoustic guitars. Although, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna try to plug it on everything I'll record in the future :)

Mojo!
Have only used the hardware on a couple of projects so can't really tell if it's spot on or not, but this thing has mojo! I usually only mix with hardware compressors on the mixbus, but this plugin is one of the few out there that sounds analogue and that deals with complex program material in a convincing way.

Hey,
got these during Christmas this year and the year could not have ended/started better. These wipe all other 1176 plug ins I have of the table. Super sound and really authentic. Only problem is now I need more DSP power :)
