Try to insert this plugin on a thin drum mix or try to mix through it on your master buss. Beautiful saturation, very rich tone. Classic tone using it for tracking some bass or vocals. I love it.

I see this as a hardware addition to my studio
I loved AE's low ratio and slow attack modes. All button for powerfully colored and no attack for soft coloration take me away. I use it on almost all busses even if they don't need dynamic squeeze
i use no compression. I got great results combine with LA2A. A totally must have couple. On drums and bass A and AE is my favorite, LN could be used with low DSP load, for vocals Rec AE is still gets the top and A is perfect, hard to decide. All button mode recommended for rock songs. Rev E for linear response, i used on guitars and keys. Great on pop, great on EDM, great on house, great on epic symphonic instruments and chorus.. Totally recommend the taste and i could give more stars if i could.

I have used the LA2a hardware my entire career (21 years). Every studio I have been to has one and I always make sure to try it out on something. I have always love the LA2a on vocals, bass, acoustic/ electric guitar, I have even used it for brass and string instruments with great results. When I tried the plugin I was thrilled with the sound. Plus when you purchase the collection you get the 3 different versions of the hardware, each giving its own unique character and sound. I have been using the plugin for a few months now and I'm still impressed at how authentic they sound. Thank you to the great minds at UA for completely changing the game of "in the box mixing", what a great time to be alive!

I have never owned the hardware version of this plugin but if this software version is anything to go by,
then no wonder The Fairchild has become a standard.

Nice variety, smoother sound.
Very great update. Although honestly I use the original a lot still because of low CPU hit. It already was so good. But this is definitely an essential addition to your UAD library.

My Go To Compressor!
The head engineer at a studio I interned at put me on to the Bomb Factory version of these plugins. They were great, I loved them but then I found out about the UAD Fairchild Legacy and newer versions! These are wayyyy better than Bf's version which in my opinion add too much saturation to the sound. The UAD version can be easily controlled to add light compression without the heavy saturation.
I literally use this plugin in all my vocal tracks, love the warmth and clean sound it gives to them!! A+

UA Does it again!
I've been using this plugin for a few weeks now and this beat all tube tech/ pultech emulations on the market. Having worked with the hardware I can attest to the fact that this plugin sounds just as good if not better than the real thing. I say better because I have encountered pultec gear that was not kept in proper working condition and when the hardware is not maintained properly the sound is garbage. I mostly use the EQ-P1a, the high end is silky and smooth the bottom end thick and heavy. I love inserting it on my mix bus, which is something you can't do with the hardware.

The difference that sets this LA-2A collection apart from the legacy model, and also models from other companies, is the very distinct voice of each compressor in the collection. the effect of the compression seems as light-handed as you would want it to be on the LA-2As, but even turning it on imparts a sonic effect on whatever track you choose - each has its own chunk and presence. And the LA-2 is simply a beast! I'm already seeing an effect on my mixes as I replace other LA-2A models with instances from this collection. WOW!
