Great pre amp

There is no simpler pre amp to use than de Neve preamp. Great tool to achieve saturated sounds!

Great pre

I was on the fence about buying this or the neve pre. I will say they do sound different. I tried both and compared the 2. Ultimately I went with the 1073eq. It has a bigger sound to me. Plus the added addition of the eq. I compared both with my WA273eq and The 1073eq got me comparable results. They both sounded very similar. Had the same weight to it's sound. I wanted to add the neve 1073 so that I have a similar pre in my x6 as my wa273. Not having any experience with a real neve pre I can't compare but will say this pre is dead on to the sound I get with my wa273. 4 stars because of price. I would wait for it to go on sale.

This pre amp gives me just that extra sauce I need to make things stand out from the mix.

Vintage beauty

Really nice character with the unison preamp together with the EQ makes this a very nice recording and mixing tool.

Nice Warm Sound

Im using this now for a warmer, more intimate sound than the SSL 4000E Unison channel strip on some tracks -- especially acoustic music. It's easy to overdrive/overload -- have to leave it in Hi Z for normal condenser mics, which confused me at first since I usually think of dynamic mics as Hi Z and condensers as Low Z, but this comes from an older piece of gear and the "Hi Z" is still relatively low. The EQ is effective but limited, yet consumes a lot of processing power, and there's no compression, but they wanted to stay true to the original as always, and I certainly can't fault them for that.

Perfect for what it does!

I bought this to track vocals using the unison tech. It does exactly what I need, giving me that Neve sound that I love!

Just as you would think

Great on bass, low end punch, bite, growl, whatever description you want to get for solid low end .

Really good.

Bought this and the API vision strip together. Great sounding unison emulation, much better than the 610. I still favour the API for most sources but this is a close second!

An industry standard staple

A no brainer. The Neve 1073 is my go to tool of choice, to make the mixing process that much easier. Great tracks equal, great mixes.

The Neve preamp has always been the plugin that I've been looking for to give me that true meaning of character I don't only use this for vocals this is also killer for live instruments! I am a believer.

Alternative to usual Cannelstips

I own the legacy RS88, but i will not update because of the known issues:
DSP load. Although not as high as the SSL 4k one, and under 50% so a chip can run two of the new one´s al least - the lagacy can run 30 times. And limited bandwith.
The sound or better the behaviour of the strip is fine.

"THAT" tone

This plug-in sounds just as close as "the real deal". It is perfect to add "that" classic sound to your tracks and mix.

Was Happy With This Until...

...I bought the V76. The Neve is a good solid preamp plugin and I would have continued using it regularly had I not discovered the V76 plugin. When comparing the Neve to preamp plugins I've used from other manufacturers, it would be a 5 star rating. Both the Neve and the V76 are well priced and great pieces of gear...do yourself a favor and pick-up both. Always nice to have different colors available in your palette.

Great Pre-Amp Emulation

This was the first Pre-amp/Plugin I purchased after buying my UaD interface. As someone who records mainly vocals, this thing was light years away from my previous recording method and sounds 10 times better! I’ve heard a million songs recorded on Neve boards and now I can get the same feel with a MacBook Air, Apollo Twin, and my Rode NT1. I am now convinced that UaD is home to musical mad scientists!

Ein Powertool das seines gleichen sucht. Preamp als auch Eq sorgen für eine Hohe Natürlichkeit. Einziger Nachteil...der Neve Channel Frisst viel DSP Power.
