Install & Authorization don't work
I already have an Apollo (TB) installed on my Mac Mojave. Impossible to authorize the Staellite TB3-Octo. (bought because BlockBuster Promo). 5 or 6 re-installs, config parameters for Confidentiality, launched script to reset authorizations... IT DOESN'T WORK. My satellite is never detected. I hope UAUdio will help me before 1 day. If not: I will send back the Satellite to the Shop.

Ensure you know what you’re getting
I took advantage of the deal to get the free satellite if I purchase the 8xp only to find out
1) it doesn’t work unless your computer has extra ports for it; you can’t daisy chain
2) it doesn’t actually do anything unless you are using UA plugins while mixing (versus using the console app, which happens to be my primary use case)
3) it doesn’t seem possible to buy a hub to “split” my one thunderbolt port as that “isn’t a thing”.
So basically I got to buy a new computer if I want to use this.
All of this is documented online but you know... didn’t see any of it.

Very buggy with my Windows PC
Got this guy with promotion as gift for Apollo x8p and now i am struggling with -38 errors and trying to keep it work stable in T3 chain with other Apollos. I spent abot 100 hours working with UAD support and forum team, tryed everything, bought a few best cables for about 120$.... It can work stable with shortest T3 cables for a few hours under full load, but suddenly can start to glitch with only one plugin. Don't know where is the problem, so i think UAD either don't know for now. Maybe first part of delivery of those devices have lots of deffective ones, maybe software error... But be aware, and use only shortes 0.5 cables by Anker or Apple, also it eats lots of my latest i9-9000k CPU resources on small bufffer sizes, very dissapointing

Avalon 737 issue
im having a -38 error plugin disabled on this satellite thunderbolt device, and phone support tech its always on" Ouside of normal bussines hours" even in NORMAL BUSSINES HOURS. and email support is not much to hang your hat on
either.

Bad purchase
Bought this device hoping UA would honour the promo but the time the product arrived and I registered it the promo discontinued

No Cable?
Usually I would not complain since the Quad Satellite was free with my Apollo 8 purchase, BUT I just got my Quad in the mail and went to hook it up and...no thunderbolt cable. If I knew it did not come with the cable I would of bought one in advance since I had to wait a month and a half to receive my Quad. Make sure you get the cables and adapters (iMac needed a thunderbolt to USB-C adapter for the Apollo). Cannot give a rating since I cannot use the item

A must have piece if you use UAD plugins
I have a lot of UAD plugins and before I got this piece I would run out of processing power pretty quickly. I'm using the API Vision and Neve plugs quite a bit as well as the Urei and Fairchild compressors.
I got the Satellite Octo and it's amazing. I've had up to 16 instances of Vision up and it didn't even hicup. Added a bunch of other things too, including a couple of Lexicon 224's and EMT 250 reverbs. It just handles it all.
If you're looking to do pro mixes this is a major upgrade to accompany the UAD platform.
