Really sounds good
I am finding myself fast becoming a fan of UA Plug-ins. I have these same plug-ins from Waves; but hearing these, I am a tad upset that I once thought the others sounded as good as I thought they once did.
These are not the same. One is trash and the other is made by UA

Great-sounding, fairly low CPU usage, but have to be connected to the internet to use native.
These plugins sound great for situations where I can't or don't want to use my hardware 1176s. They are surprisingly light in terms of CPU usage, which makes them great for secondary compression while mixing. The blue version in particular is pretty darn accurate for typical use cases; confirmed by A/B testing with my hardware.
The one complaint -- and this is why I knock off a star -- is that you have to be connected to the internet to use the native versions. I generally turn off my network connection while recording, but that disables these plugins after a short time. So, every few hours, I need to reconnect and refresh everything in UA connect.

Great for paralleling your vocals!
I use the blue face on a separate aux to parallel my vocal chain! Gives my vocal some color. I also use the legacy RevN to parallel my music bus ! I never really used it on any main track because I feel it adds to much color so I parallel it .

Does what it says on the box!
I have other emulations of 1176, and they tend to have more bells and whistles . As is the case with the UAD La2a, but it seems to be the UAD ones that I use and prefer.

Nice sound, easy to operate, even for a hobbyist like myself
I'm a duffer. A hobbyist. A suburban dad, sitting up late after the kids are asleep, trying to get the songs out of my head and into the computer and have the sound in the headphones approach what I hear inside my head. Any plugin I buy is with an eye (ear?) towards that goal.
These plugins are straightforward to use, with simple, basic settings. And they make magic sounds happen. I'm especially fond of the AE at 2:1 at the end of my mix bus chain, with just enough gain to tickle the meter. Instant glue. My brain is happy. Now I can move on.

Simple, Simple and Simple!
I have both plug-in and analog rack compressors in my studio and this gives me options. It’s as close as you can get to the original 1176’s without the spending a ton of money. That being said if you’re a diehard analog user you’re never going to be happy with a plug-in but this is worth the money if you do any kind of mobile recording.
I will say that UA gives you plenty of presets to get you going in the right direction and very easy to use. I got the 1176 package on sale and I couldn’t be happier.

Ich war ein wenig neugierig, wie UA seine eigene Hardware modellieren lässt. Ich finde das Ergebnis nicht schlechter als andere Emulationen, im Mix wird man daher wohl kaum Unterschiede hören. Dass die PlugIns als Emulation von drei verwandten Geräten ein deutlich kleineres Spektrum abdecken als universelle Dynamikprozesoren, liegt in der Natur der Sache. Ich denke, die meisten Benutzer hier haben bereits genügend Alternativen, wenn es kein 1176 sein soll.

Oldie but goodie! Update GUI!
I first tried the 1176 years ago. Outstanding sound, but...
The GUI is outdated. 15 years ago it was OK with the screen resolution, but not today. I wouldn't complain if the plug was $ 20, but it is expensive. So - it's not hard to program a newer GUI...

Great plugin, does what it's supposed to do.
This is an easy-to-use, great-sounding plugin that does exactly what it's supposed to do. It's a must-have compressor, and is super versatile, as it should be. I would definitely recommend.

The 1176 Collection is quite a unique collection...I love the Gritty vibe it gives on bass guitar...I find myself using it before the LA2As...Glad I purchased it during the Holiday Promo season

You have to have them... but...
... the new GUI it's not eyes friendly. Sounds very good and you can choice what unit suits best your needs but the parameters are a little too small to read.

yeah, i wouldnt expect less for this plugin from the people that originally brought the unit to market. 5/5 for sound. Rating 4 stars as a slight facelift GUI wise would be nice alongside some sort of sidechain control. even if the sc is on a separate plugin to keep the others true to og signalflow, a version that can get a bit more surgical would be YUGE

Eye Opening
Let me first start off by saying UAD has done it again when I first started using this I was thinking of it as a simple yet effective 1176 compressor but UAD decided to allow you to simply turn the compressor off and you can still run your signal through to add extra colour pure genius! The Rev a is a mainstay on vocals for me.

Legacy comparison
Wish I'd have read up on the UA Appolo quad before I parted with my hard earned, only to discover that all the "bundled plug ins" are the legacy versions and I'll have to fork out the total price for the upgrades with no discount. Well miffed about it to be honest after listening to the difference between the Legacy versions and the full monty the Legacy versions were way different to my ears. I see I'm not the only customer to gripe about this matter either!! The 4 stars are for the "real deal" versions that I didn't get and not the Legacy versions that they bundled with my Apollo quad. Hey ho I'll be doing a lot more reading up before I buy anything else from UA.
