Looks good
Looks like a good piece to add to my silverface apollo. I can’t get it to work however, and the repair center I was directed to, is not doing a good job at getting my issue resolved either. This might be the last piece of UA gear I buy to be honest. I had a similar issue when I bought my silverface, and it was very expensive to handle that situation as well. Not too happy right now. I miss when digidesign was the go to right about now, but they died with FireWire.

guter sound / miese bedienung
habe das apollo 8 für live anwendungen gekauft, bin natürlich von der verarbeitung und den klanglichen eigenschaften angetan, die console aber dermaßen ohne midi anbindung dastehen zu lassen ist schon eher mager! keine ansteuerung von presets aus mischpulten oder daws... mediocre at best!

Right off the bat, I cant believe how great the sound is with this thing. However, Making you run to another store to buy a thunderbolt cable after dishing out an already 2200 dollars was a low ball move. Not to mention not one plug in is free they cost over thousands of dollars for plugin bundles. I am happy with the actually recording of my instruments and the way they sound though.

The sound of UAD is great! But, Windows WDM drives have problems.
I am using Apollo 8 Quad to do DTM with Mac pro and Windows ASIO application.
The sound of UAD's UNISON is Great!
Quad DPS will provide you the best environment when recording with multiple plugins.
On the other hand, Windows WDM drives have problems.
It can not be used for guitar or vocal lesson using Skype in Windows OS, because the quality of WDM driver is bad and noisy.
I am dreaming of solving with the next update.

Fine interface
An upgrade from an old Digidesign 003+ for me. It has something o offer on the input side but sadly it doesn't allow very powerful output ability. I had hoped to be able put a fader and plugins to work on sending out from ProTools to adjust gain for 5.1 monitoring. Hopefully in future versions of the software this will be possible.

Not a bad unit especially if you know what you are doing
and know the sound your looking for.
