Great as a drum-send
This bad boy does wonders on an AUX-channel, sending your drums to it!

Just like the plate I used to know...
When I went to recording school there was an EMT 140 in the main studio. I don't miss the Sony MXP3000 mixing console, or any of the outboard gear but I have always missed that awesome plate! Until now that is...

Reverb With Control
I have used tons of Reverb plugins and hardware units throughout my years as an engineer but never felt anything so tangible in a plug and so full of control....I like this plugin because I feel like I have a sense of control over it...There are many options and even an EQ that works great....I use the HP filter which eliminates the need for me to use more DSP on a separate EQ...Very user friendly and great sound.

Still Relevant
The EMT 140 Plate is still a worthy contender among reverb plugins despite being a few years old now. There are very few options available for modeling a real plate reverb, giving the EMT 140 a distinct advantage of having a unique character.
UA's execution of this plugin was spot on. It really harkens back to yesteryear with a fat, metallic, gorgeous tone.
While it is a no-brainer to use the EMT 140 for percussion, it provides startling results with keyboard instruments as well--allowing them to really shine in a mix.
I like specialized tools that are great at doing a few things and are easy to use. The EMT 140 nails this description.

Very flexible
love the reverb, is actually my go to for shaping and enrich snare tracks. Love it on guitars as well.

EMT 140
The emulation is really "realistic". Shines on Drims, Brass, vocals.

Silk.
Smooth reverb that can either fill space naturally and transparently, or draw attention if you want it to. The three plate models give some nice variation, making the 140 very flexible and easily adjustable to suit almost any situation. It's easy to hear why hardware versions of the 140 are still in use over fifty years after its debut.

Un son exceptionnel
les nombreux réglages permettent d'obtenir un son profond et une incroyable résonance!
J'utilise le EMT 140 sur la voix, les guitares et la batterie.Les chansons ont une autre dimension avec ce logiciel.

Solid emulation of early plate systems
I really enjoy the sound of this plugin. I wish there was more indication of what parameter adjustments are doing (i.e. +/- dB changes, etc.) so you have to rely solely on your ears. Hey, that's what it's about anyway. You don't mix with your eyes.
As for the sound, it is about as close as modeling can get without being an actual piece of analog hardware.

Sublime Reverb
This reverb does something special. It's not a clinical reverb but rather a character one. I've been using it to achieve the Lord Huron/folksy/reverb wash effect on some of my recent songs. I love it! I love the ease of use. Having all the controls on the front panel is so helpful and everything is clearly marked. It's a winner!

Super clean
Love the sound ! stands out no question about it. love it in the voc and horns

Smooth and reliable
The EMT-140 is a smooth reverb that makes it easy to dial in a lush vocal sound on slower or vintage sounding tracks. Nice for longer vocal or horn verbs. Try pairing it with a shorter reverb (on 2 different aux sends) to balance between ER and larger sense of space.

Sweet Tail
I love the EMT 140 from UA. It had been on my wish list since I got on the platform. It's really good on both short and long tails. Between this and the spacier Lexicon, which I also have, I can cover most of my reverb needs. Sometime, I hope to pick up the Ocean Way for drums and room sounds, but the EMT 140 is great on vocals, snare, synth sounds, and as a catch-all send in my rock mixes.

Great Reverb
The EMT140 is a great reverb unit that lets you dial in the right tone with the EQ section. It's simple, sounds great, and is very versatile.
The only thing it needs is an upgrade to the graphics -- they're a little cheesy by today's standards. Other than that, it's great.

The Real and Fantastic Reverb
I have a lot of reverb plugins, Waves, Sonnox, Overloud, IK multimedia and more.
And I had used to insert the Sonnox reverb especially.
Now I've got the UA EMT 140.
This is the most beautiful, just Real and Fantastic sounds.
The density and width are great.
I'll continue to use this reverb on Vocals, Drums.

The main Plate
I have different native reverb plugins (algorithmic, and convolution) and I used many hardware one's live and in studio (tc electronic, lexicon, ...)
I wasn't going to buy this plugin because I was quite satisfied with what I have;
when I bought my uad-2 duo I got an offer to have this plugin and the neve 88rs for free and I asked UAD to exchange the emt for a fairchild 670...
the gave me both for free!
thank god they did!!!
I just love this plugin
I'm the kind of guy who likes to read manuals and understand and tweak every parameter, I didn't felt the need of doing so with this plugin it just sounds sooo good "as is": just choose a preset and try to change plate model, predelay and decay time and you're there
