My favorite Marshall amp, but please let Unison active at amp stanby!

I have bought this Amp after demoing it for all the 14 days, and I must say that I love this Marshall, this is my favorite one. Very edgy , brilliant and responsive. When I put the amp gain "at the sweet spot", guitar volume pot variation reacts the same like using a real amp. Incredible job done.
Not giving 5 stars (like the Marshall Legend bundle that I bought too), only because I hope you add Full Unison support like the Fender amp behaviour: Unison should stay on at amp bypass like on the Fender, instead of switching off .
If we put one instance bypassed in Unison slot and track the amp in stereo through the Aux channel, this could let the Unison technology pass thru and, at the same time, we could also benefit of the sweet stereo mics placement.

great but not perfect

First of all : this thing clearly blows off Amplitube 4. When I first tried it, I don't know why but I got it wrong and didn't like it. Maybe because of the presets... Then I tried it again taking off the room mic and adding Ableton convolution reverb : it sounded so much better ! This is clearly a lot more realistic than Amplitube 4.
But I must say that UAD Fender 55 tweed sounds even better (it's a different amp but I'm talking in terms of realism). And I find annoying the fact that there's no mid knob... I get it, Softube tried to make it look authentic but guys... we don't need that kind of purist's thing. A noise cancelling option would be nice too.

Marshall Jmp 2203

The best simulation who I heard, simple, very powerful, with incredible feeling!
I think 4 stars because there is a choosy frequency...I hope they'll fix it.

Great sound, problematic harmonics

Sounds amazing, but there are definitely overtones that sound either a minor 6th or a 5th below the fundamental note. The other softube Amps do not have this problem. I hope it gets corrected since this is an excellent plugin for jazz and other deep tones.

Liked it

It's a great Emulation, but I still like Plexi Super Lead WAY MORE than this one, got much more realistic sound.

Yep!

This amp sim really did it for me - that special attack you get from Marshalls is right there as soon as you hit the strings. I often just end up plugging in my J. Mascis Jazzmaster, and just do Dinosaur Jr. covers to amuse myself with this plugin. It really nails that sound.
I´m giving it a 4, because it´s a little harder to use than for instance the Fender sim. You have to really be careful with your input signal, and the plugin is just set a little too loud by default. The tone when you DO get it right though - is spot on.

Very close to the real thing

I'm fortunate enough to own a real 2203 (it's a JCM800 Master Lead 2203...but it's the exact same circuit as the JMP). Very impressed. There are some very minute differences I notice, but this is an excellent, excellent model. Probably the best I've heard. If you have ever been near a 2203 in real life, you know that if you crank the volume and preamp on them you can probably hear them 11 miles away. They're INSANELY powerful. With this, you can do it all in the box on headphones and still get the same tone. It's awesome.

A signature sound...

Very nice emulation, great mics management, but mostly very great Unison technology!!

Nice sound

UAD and Softube work good together. I have heard this head in person all my life and I have to say it is damn close.

Hands down great tones!

Very life like and accurate emulation. Beats any other non-Unison plugin I have used. The sound can feel a bit withdrawn used with a strat but with a bit of EQ it cuts through better. The tremolo is quite subtle – but that is how it is on a real Bluesbreaker, too... All in all a very cool and versatile amp.

Fijne sounds mee te maken

Hele fijne sound. Ik kan het niet met een origineel vergelijken maar ik kan hier hele gave sound mee creëren. Absoluut een aanrader.

Marshall Bluesbreaker sim

I have been finding this amp sim the most useable so far. Sounds great for jazz style, grant green / kenny burrell tones and works really well for lower gain rock stuff. It does seem a little dull to my ears but this can be worked around and maybe it is just me getting used to the tone controls a bit more. The room verb is really nice and sounds great when the guitars are in the track. I really want a Fender Deluxe Reverb Custom now please!

Not bad

I think it, because, like most of these sort of plugins, the sound is stil a lot colder than a real amplifier, but the thing I don't like , is the fact that it's a lot more difficult to get a nice clear sound than distortion, really not fare to my opinion...,
But in this kind of plugin,it's the best one so far.....
Still a lot of progress to do!

Favorite simulation ever… Needs amp bypass!

I have tried countless amp simulators and this has honestly surpassed all of them for me, largely because of the cabinet/modeling. It's incredibly versatile for both clean and dirty sounds, and the mic configurations again are gorgeous. My ears are especially sensitive to ice pick my mids, and this one is so smooth and I can crank it and it is comfortable to my ears, but you want those high mids, they can be dialed back in and honestly it cuts through either way.

I would love for this amp to have an amp bypass so different heads ( or a hardware head) could be used with this amazing cabinet modeling. I would've given it 4 1/2 stars, but they don't allow halves and until that amp bypass is there, i'll have to get it four!

Great Sound - Missing bypass pre amp feature!

A great sounding simulation BUT - where is the bypass pre amp feature from the ENGL amps?
This simulation is really a great one but real tube pre amps has still a greater dynamic range. Thats why the best results can be only achieved with the combination of real preamp and power amp, cabinet microphones simulation (at least in a neighbor friendly environment).
Its so sorry that SoftTube didn't provide one additional switch to turn of the preamp section ;(

Mostly happy

I am still learning to dial it in, and I don't actually know whether it sounds just like the original or not. I am happy with the sound it puts out, although I still need to learn how to dial it in.

That being said, it takes a HUGE amount of the DSP. I pretty much can't use it on my Twin unless I am happy having nothing else in the chain. If I want to use this, I need to use it on my QUAD.

Spot on

I owned a '78 Master Volume 2203 JMP, which I ran through a cab with G12T-75's (for a while). This simulation is spot on. The mic selections are exactly what I used also (except I didn't own a 251). I sold that amp a few years ago.

I haven't tried any pedals with the sim yet, but this amp was a great pedal platform. Just like the amp, this sim takes some EQ to take out some of the brightness (unless you're going for that), and add some low end.

T-75's are the period correct speakers, but I didn't love them with this amp and wish the sim had a different option. But it's spot on and very real sounding, and true to the original as billed.
